Senior Backend Engineer

Fourlis Group, one of the leading Groups of companies in Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania in providing quality consumer goods, is currently looking to recruit: Senior Backend Engineer The Position: Reporting to the ΙΤ Commerce Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for: •Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET Framework / .NET Core •Build and deploy cloud-native applications and services on Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, CI/CD pipelines) •Design, develop and maintain secure backend services and REST and GraphQL APIs for digital commerce applications •Develop event-driven and asynchronous integrations using Azure Service Bus, events, webhooks and scheduled processes •Create structured logging, metrics and distributed tracing to support production operations •Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration and production-readiness standards •Create and maintain API specifications, technical documentation, sequence diagrams and operational runbooks •Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions and incident •Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions •Participate in requirement analysis and contribute to architectural design discussions •Stay up to date with emerging technologies and promote best practices in software engineering. Qualifications & Competencies required: •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field •At least 5 years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET development •Proven experience in developing and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure •Strong knowledge of SQL (SQL Server or Azure SQL) •Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs, microservices and event-driven patterns •Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps or equivalent tools) •Solid understanding of asynchronous and event-driven architecture •Strong knowledge of resilient integration patterns, including idempotency, retries, dead-letter queues and eventual consistency •Experience integrating business-critical platforms and external services •Ability to diagnose distributed-system issues using logs, metrics and traces. Preferred Skills: •Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate) •Hands-on knowledge of Azure API Management, Key Vault, Application Insights and Azure DevOps •Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) •Knowledge of front-end frameworks (Angular, React, Next.js) will be considered a plus •Experience with high-volume retail, eCommerce or omnichannel platforms •Experience supporting business-critical production systems and applying privacy-by-design and secure development practices.
