TSR Consulting is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Java Full Stack Developer for an opportunity in Rutherford, NJ – W2 Candidates Position Title: Senior Java Full Stack Developer Location: Rutherford, NJ Job Type: Hybrid – 3 days to office & 2 days remote Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and it is subject to change. TSR will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Right to Hire) Pay Range: Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). We are seeking a Karat Software Engineer - Java - Senior (C13), Full Stack to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture and a proven ability to design, build, and scale resilient, secure, and performant distributed systems. Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for scalable, resilient microservices using Java and Spring.Drive adoption of domain-driven and event-driven design, API standards, and fault tolerance patterns.Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams on strategies and roadmaps.Lead design reviews and code reviews to ensure secure, maintainable, high-quality code.Mentor and coach engineers, promoting technical excellence and continuous learning.Architect solutions for distributed transactions, observability, security, and service mesh integration.Identify and remediate technical debt, performance issues, and scalability challenges.Oversee advanced CI/CD pipelines and automated testing across microservices.Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve efficiency, performance, and reliability.Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production incidents.Contribute to strategic planning of the backend technology stack and architecture.Required Skills & Qualifications: 6+ years in backend software development focused on Java and microservices.Expert proficiency in Java 8+ (preferably 11+) and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud).Hands-on with microservices patterns such as CQRS, Saga, event sourcing, distributed tracing, and API gateway.Experience with RESTful API design and implementation; exposure to GraphQL is a plus.Strong RDBMS skills (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB); advanced SQL and JPA/Hibernate.Messaging expertise with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or JMS and event streaming platforms.Comprehensive testing experience: unit (JUnit, Mockito), integration, contract (Pact), and performance testing.Advanced Git, branching strategies, pull requests, and repository management.Maven or Gradle for multi-module builds and dependency management.Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-native practices.Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.CI/CD pipeline design and implementation experience.Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, or Jaeger.Security practices including OAuth2, JWT, secure coding, and vulnerability scanning.Leadership experience influencing architecture, mentoring teams, and working in Agile/Scrum.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Preferred Skills: Experience with service mesh integration and advanced API gateways.Experience leading incident response and post-incident reviews.
