The team and areas of ownership
PX Insights tells Akeneo customers how their product data performs outside their own systems.
Search engines, marketplaces, and now AI assistants and agents all read catalogs differently, and most brands have no visibility into how theirs is being read — or what to fix first.
Telling a customer their product data needs improvement is the easy part.
Telling them what needs improvement, letting them fix it at scale, measuring the impact, and being right about it: that's the work.
We pull external signals about a customers’ products, score their quality and their readiness for conversational commerce, and turn that into specific, prioritized actions inside Akeneo PIM.
Some of that is deterministic.
A lot of it isn't — the analysis, the scoring and the recommendations lean on LLMs, which means the interesting problems are about output you can't unit-test in the usual way, prompts that have to hold up across thousands of tenants, and knowing when a model is the right tool and when it very much isn't.
AI isn't how we build this product.
It's part of what the product is.
PX Insights is central to Akeneo's strategy, and it's early.
The category didn't exist two years ago.
We're still experimenting and learning as the industry is shifting - which means the problems are open, and so is your opportunity to shape them.
How we work
We believe the best engineering outcomes come from empowerment, clarity, and speed, so we've moved away from approval-heavy processes.
Autonomy and ownership.
We operate on trust.
Two-way-door decisions are yours to make; one-way doors you discuss with senior teammates.
That distinction is the actual promise — not "you're on your own."Problems, not tickets.
We don't just build features, we solve problems.
You'll be in the scoping, the metrics, and the question of whether what we shipped actually helped.Experiment, then harden.
We're working on unknown problems, so we move fast and break new ground first, then move to durability and maintenance.
You'll get both.AI in the work and in the product.
We build AI-powered features, and we use AI heavily in how we build them.
Both matter here.Learning out loud.
Data, customer feedback and learnings get shared weekly, so the whole team stays close to what's actually happening.
What you'll deliver in this role
Ship features end to end across a Go backend on Cloud Run and a React front end inside the Akeneo PIM, with the team alongside you.
You don't need Go already — we care much more about solid software design, system architecture and AI engineering fundamentals than about which languages you've used, and strong engineers get productive in Go quickly.Build features on top of models.
Designing and iterating on the prompts behind our analysis and recommendations, working out how to tell whether the output is actually good, and handling the parts that don't behave like ordinary code.
This is product engineering with a non-deterministic component, and it's a real part of the job.Build connectors.
Every new external surface has its own shape.
Connectors are small, independent Go services on purpose, so adding a signal source is a new service rather than a change to a monolith.Own what you build.
As you grow, you'll take on more end to end — from shipping, to watching it in production, to closing the loop with the customer.Grow, deliberately.
Code review, pairing with senior engineers, and access to the wider Akeneo Staff Engineering group.
This is a team where you'll be stretched — being excited about this role means being excited to be stretched.Get close to customers.
You'll see how they actually work and how their feedback changes what we build.
What will set you up for success at Akeneo
This is a mid-level role, and we mean it in both directions.
You're not a junior: you've shipped real things, you've been on the hook for them in production, and you don't need to be shown how.
You're also not yet operating at senior scope.
You'd be joining a small, senior team — which is deliberate.
What we're looking for is someone with real growth ahead of them who wants to be surrounded by people to learn from.
As a guide, that's usually around 3–5 years of professional experience — though we care more about what you did with them than the count.
You don't need a specialist background or a big name on your CV.
You need the makings of a strong engineer: real problem-solving instinct, curiosity, drive, and solid fundamentals to build on.
You've shipped and run something real.
At least one service or feature you took to production and stayed responsible for afterwards, including the parts that went wrong.
You can talk about a decision you made, what you traded away, and how you'd have known if you were wrong. You think, not just code.
You want to understand why something is being built and how it actually works, not just close the ticket.
When you hit something you don't know, you dig in rather than paper over it.You want to build with models, not just alongside them.
You've worked with an LLM as part of something you shipped, or you're hungry to.
You're interested in the hard part — how you know the output is right, what happens when it isn't, and where a model is the wrong answer.
If your AI experience so far is entirely as a coding assistant, tell us why you want that to change. You use AI to think, not just to type.
Prompt engineering is a core skill here in how we work, too — it's how we explore, test ideas and move quickly.
The point isn't generating more code.
When anyone can generate code, the value is in knowing what to build and why. You're building strong fundamentals.
You're learning to reason about system design, and about the problems that only show up at volume — concurrency, correctness, cost.
You care about code that works properly, not code that looks like it works. You care about the customer.
You want to know who uses what you build and why it matters to them. You're comfortable with ambiguity, or want to get there.
We won't hand you a detailed spec for everything.
You'll get clear problems and the room to solve them, with support when you need it.
You don't need to tick every box.
We strongly encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
If you are excited about this opportunity but your experience is slightly different, we still want to hear from you!
