Description

Python Developer (Web Application Development) Location: New York, NY Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Greater emphasis on onsite Duration: 24 Months Interview: Webcam or In-Person About the Role We are seeking an experienced Python/AWS Application Developer to join the Revenue Fare Management Systems team supporting enterprise web applications and next-generation fare payment initiatives. The selected candidate will work on Python-based web applications, APIs, AWS cloud services, containerized applications, and database development, while supporting legacy revenue applications and contributing to the modernization and unification of LIRR and MNR revenue systems. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement custom modules and APIs using Python.Build and maintain web-based applications and REST APIs.Support development of real-time transaction systems for ticket validation.Develop frontend interfaces for internal and external customer applications.Design and configure solutions using AWS API Gateway and other AWS services.Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.Work with SQL and Oracle PL/SQL for application and database development. Required Qualifications Strong professional experience with Python web development.Hands-on experience with Django and/or FastAPI.Experience developing web applications and APIs.Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAX.Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services, preferably AWS Developer experience/certification.Experience with AWS API Gateway.Experience with Docker containerization.Experience with Kubernetes / Amazon EKS.Experience with AWS IAM / Identity Center.Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle PL/SQL.Experience with Linux and Windows scripting, including Bash and/or PowerShell.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Experience working with cross-functional development teams. Preferred Experience with financial, payment, revenue, transportation, ticketing, or transaction-processing applications.Experience with real-time transaction systems.Experience with serverless and server-based deployment strategies.Experience supporting modernization of legacy enterprise applications.
