SQL Developer

Ardent Credit Services provides market leading “digital first” financial recovery solutions to UK organisations and is part of the Phillips & Cohen Associates group. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Developer with a passion for IT to work directly with the Director of ICT. This is a hands-on technical role requiring a detailed understanding of data extraction and transformation as well as relational database and general programming techniques. You will join our ICT Team in developing a new data warehouse and reporting system as well developing business automation procedures. Essential skills and experience: Advanced knowledge of SQLQuerying, aggregation and transformation of data using SQLAn understanding of relational database principles and designAbility to learn new technologies and platformsAdvanced knowledge in SQL Triggers, Stored Procedures and functionsExperience in SSRSAdvanced use of MS-Excel Desirable skills and experience: Data migration experienceAny experience in SSISAny exposure to data warehouse structures and methodologies with modern ETL tools, e.g. TalendData Integration experienceFamiliarity with build and debugging/analysis toolsPython programmingExtract, Transform & Load (ETL)Experience with Python web frameworksJob Requirements The candidate will be expected to provide hands-on assistance to the business and exercise problem solving capabilities on a daily basis. The candidate will maintain an overall understanding of the operation of the ICT infrastructure and Data Management. The main duties the candidate will be expected to carry on will be: Writing stored procedures, scalar/table based functionsDeveloping data extraction and transformation proceduresDeveloping reporting proceduresPerforming basic Database Administration tasksContribute, both in ideas and execution, to the ongoing evolution of the platform architectureDatabase integrity monitoringHelp in developing internal tools for reporting and data mining Key personal attributes: Proven ability to work under stress in emergencies, with the flexibility to handle multiple high-pressure situations simultaneouslyAbility to work well under minima supervisionExcellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues in plain EnglishProactive approach and ability to work with colleagues to gain commitment to delivery of high standard productsSolution focussed.
