Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) Job Description Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) Employment Type: Full-time Work Type: Hybrid Location: San Francisco Salary: $170K - $230K Company: Roger Healthcare About This Role We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our small, lean team of ten engineers. We are seeking a candidate with a strong backend focus, startup experience (Pre-seed to Series B), and a passion for healthcare. This individual will be a core team member, taking on significant ownership to help scale our core services and build new Generative AI and LLM-driven workflows. What Will You Be Doing? Build and ship complex backend services and infrastructure that interface with LLMs and Generative AI models. Take ownership of zero-to-one projects, from prototyping MVPs to hardening them into scalable, secure, and reliable production systems. Help scale our existing, widely adopted products as we launch to more organizations. Improve backend architecture, observability, and code quality standards. Collaborate within a flat engineering structure, working directly with other engineers and the CTO. Role Details Salary $170K - $230K Equity 0.1-0.2% Hybrid Work Policy 3 days in-person. Work Experience Must have: Experience at an early-stage startup (Pre-seed to Series B). Strong demonstrated technical expertise (someone who can move fast and understand and explain their code). Nice to have: Experience or demonstrated interest in healthcare or HealthTech AI. Education Required: Demonstrated "signal of excellence" (e.g., top 50 university, high-growth startup, leadership roles, robotics club). Hard Skills Must have: Strong proficiency in Python for backend development. Nice to have: Experience with production LLMs or Generative AI. Soft Skills Required: Strong communication skills and ability to take high ownership. Traits to Avoid Avoid: Exclusively big company experience (unless in a startup-like team).
