Role Description
The Cloud Engineer / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / Cloud Platform Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing secure and scalable cloud infrastructure that supports business applications, digital platforms, and enterprise technology environments.
This role works closely with software engineering, DevOps, cybersecurity, networking, database, and IT operations teams to ensure cloud environments are reliable, efficient, resilient, and aligned with organizational requirements.
Key responsibilities include deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), managing virtual machines, containers, storage, networking, identity and access management, and cloud-based services.
The role also supports infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), continuous integration and deployment processes, system monitoring, backup and disaster recovery, and cloud security best practices.
The successful candidate will monitor cloud performance and availability, troubleshoot infrastructure and application connectivity issues, optimize cloud resources and costs, implement security controls, and contribute to cloud migration and modernization projects.
The position may also involve developing automated deployment workflows, maintaining technical documentation, and evaluating new cloud technologies to improve platform performance and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, or a related field.Relevant experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or IT infrastructure.Hands-on knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or similar cloud environments.Understanding of cloud networking, virtual machines, storage, load balancing, DNS, firewalls, and identity and access management.Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies.Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and modern DevOps practices.Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows Server administration.Understanding of cloud security, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability principles.Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages is advantageous.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, security, networking, and business technology teams.Cloud certifications from AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or equivalent providers are advantageous.
