Job Description:
As part of the Equity Technology team, an opportunity exists for a consultant developer to join the small Securities Finance team to deliver functionality to support the UK/EU T+1 Regulatory initiative.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Development of the core in-house platforms.Build distributed systems and enterprise-grade applications leveraging Java, Spring frameworks, and container technologies.Integrate with messaging systems and caching solutions for real-time processing.Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services.Own specific projects or issues from start to finish.Work with colleagues and management to ensure appropriate prioritization.Unit testing, assisting with user testing, and working closely with the release management team.
Qualifications/ Experience:
Deep expertise developing Java-based enterprise applications.Hands-on experience in Core Java, Spring frameworks, and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Strong SQL knowledge, preferably MS SQL Server and/or MySQL.Experience with Redis caching, and messaging systems such as Kafka, MQ, SQS, and SNS.Understanding of Securities Lending is desirable, preferably with prior experience in this or a related area, e.g., Equity swaps.Proficiency in leveraging GitHub Copilot or Claude for productivity gains and to improve code quality.
