Senior Java Software Engineer

Senior Java Engineer | Utrecht | €90K (Hybrid/SaaS). We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to help modernize and scale a proven SaaS platform in the real estate sector. The company develops an innovative SaaS solution used daily by hundreds of customers in the private and public sector. The product is well established, but the technology behind it is ready for its next step. The role: Currently, the application runs on an older Java and WildFly stack, with separate environments for customers. This setup has worked well, but it is not the ideal foundation for further growth. Your challenge will be to help move the platform towards a modern, scalable SaaS architecture. A key part of this journey will be the gradual transition from WildFly to Spring Boot. This won't be a big-bang rewrite. You will work pragmatically with the team to determine what to modernize, in what order, and how to keep delivering value while the platform evolves. Requirements: We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer with 4+ years of experience, strong Java and Spring Boot skills and an interest in software architecture and modernization. Experience with WildFly/JBoss and Azure is a plus. Most importantly, you are someone who can look at an existing environment, understand the challenges quickly and turn them into practical steps forward. You will work closely with the Tech Lead and Engineering Manager in an international engineering team. Communication is important: you should be comfortable explaining technical choices, challenging existing approaches and bringing ideas to the table.
