About The Role We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer / AI Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our AI-driven platforms. Your work will directly support the deployment of intelligent solutions that enable our clients to access, search, and utilize vast amounts of data efficiently and securely. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, data scientists, and AI specialists to shape the architecture of our AI platform, ensuring it remains reliable, scalable, and compliant with data protection standards. Your contributions will help us enhance our search capabilities, integrate language models, and optimize our infrastructure for high performance and privacy. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in backend development using modern, type-safe programming languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or C#. You should possess a solid understanding of API design, real-time and streaming interfaces, and concurrent programming for performance optimization. Experience with semantic search, AI retrieval systems, and managing large datasets is essential. Familiarity with integrating AI and language model services, containerization technologies, Linux environments, version control, and CI/CD pipelines is required. Additionally, a strong knowledge of relational and search-oriented databases, data privacy, security, and tenant separation is necessary. Candidates should demonstrate a structured, independent working style and enjoy collaborative teamwork. Proficiency in German is also required. Responsibilities Develop and operate backend services supporting our AI assistants, ensuring reliable access to knowledge bases and agent functionalities.Enhance search functionalities to retrieve and prepare relevant content effectively for user queries.Maintain fast and scalable search capabilities over large knowledge repositories, ensuring high quality and performance.Integrate and prepare data for language models (LLMs), ensuring compatibility and optimal operation.Connect with various AI providers and models while adhering to GDPR and data privacy standards within Europe.Ensure fast, reliable response delivery even during high traffic or multiple simultaneous requests.Maintain strict data separation and access controls for different clients, ensuring data security and privacy compliance.Contribute to architectural decisions and work closely with frontend, data, and AI teams to align technical solutions.
