Job Details
Yolk Digital is engaged by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to provide an experienced Senior .NET Developers to the Passports IT Section within the Business Solutions Branch of DFAT's Information Management and Technology Division, supporting the sustainment, enhancement and delivery of Australia's passport systems and priority ICT initiatives.
As a full stack developer working across Vue JS and .NET, you'll build and secure web applications in on-premises and cloud environments, keeping critical services running for one of the government's most widely used platforms.
You'll work in an agile, multidisciplinary team, managing multiple high-priority work items at once and delivering continuous improvement to systems that matter to every Australian who holds a passport.
There is scope to lead technical work: candidates with experience guiding ICT teams and shaping solution design will find room to apply those strengths.

Onsite in Canberra, 5 days per week in the office.
Duration
12 months, commencing 26 October 2026, with two 12-month extension options.

Key Responsibilities
DFAT is seeking experienced full stack Vue JS/.NET Developers who can effectively manage multiple high-priority work items simultaneously.
The ideal candidates will have a proven record of development achievement in agile teams, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments.
Experience and knowledge in leading ICT technical teams may be an advantage.

Essential Criteria
Multiple years of Microsoft .NET experience doing full stack development.Proven experience designing and developing in Vue JS/.NET on-premises and cloud environments.Have intimate knowledge of securing apps to meet the least privilege principle (Cyber ISM) including familiarity with OWASP.Demonstrated experience developing web applications with modern reactive JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, especially Vue JS.Experience establishing and managing software repositories and developing CI/CD pipelines to deploy software.Strong understanding of Azure DevOps processes and task governance.
Desirable Criteria
Proven critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills and possess lead solution design skills.The ability to work under pressure, deliver business outcomes and work effectively as part of a team with a focus on leading teams to provide quality services to DFAT.Work closely as part of an agile delivery team, including the flexibility to work as a multidisciplinary team member.Effective communication skills and can clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
