up to £80k plus benefits
UK Remote - you cant be based outside the UK, we cant offer sponsorship
We’re supporting a SaaS organisation looking for a senior, hands-on Platform Engineer to take technical ownership of the cloud infrastructure underpinning its production products.
Although this is a lead-level position, it is not primarily a people-management role.
You’ll work directly with the technology, collaborating with development teams to improve the consistency, resilience and security of the platform.
You’ll take ownership across:
• AWS cloud infrastructure and production environments
• Terraform modules, state management and infrastructure standards
• CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
• Cloud networking, connectivity, DNS and load balancing
• Monitoring, alerting and observability
• Cloud security, IAM, privileged access and secrets management
• Database availability, backup and recovery
• Incident management, root-cause analysis and P1 support
• Disaster recovery, restore testing and RTO/RPO planning
• Runbooks, operational standards and production support processes
We’re looking for someone with substantial, recent hands-on experience across AWS and Terraform, combined with a strong understanding of how production SaaS platforms should be operated.
You might currently be working as a Lead Platform Engineer, Senior Platform Engineer, Principal DevOps Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Lead or Senior Site Reliability Engineer.
Previous line-management experience would be useful, but it is not required.
Experience with Azure or GCP would be beneficial, particularly within a multi-cloud environment.
Exposure to technologies such as ECS, EC2, S3, CloudFront, Aurora, DynamoDB, Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Datadog, Ansible and mixed Windows/Linux estates would also be valuable.
The important thing is that you are still technically hands-on and comfortable taking direct responsibility for production infrastructure—not operating solely at an architectural or management level.
