AWS Platform Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer with strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable AWS environments while ensuring high availability, security, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain highly available AWS-based platform infrastructure. Manage containerized applications running on Amazon ECS (EC2 and/or Fargate). Troubleshoot production incidents involving application performance, latency, availability, and infrastructure failures. Monitor and optimize ECS clusters, Auto Scaling Groups, load balancers, and cloud resources. Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent). Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and releases. Configure and manage observability platforms including logging, monitoring, alerting, and dashboards. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures. Collaborate with development teams to improve application reliability, scalability, and deployment practices. Implement cloud security, governance, and operational best practices. Drive platform automation and reduce manual operational activities. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or SRE. Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:ECSEC2ALB/NLBCloudWatchAuto ScalingIAMVPC NetworkingExperience managing containerized applications using Docker and ECS/Kubernetes. Strong understanding of application performance troubleshooting, memory management, and resource optimization. Experience investigating production incidents involving:High latency5xx errorsApplication crashesMemory leaksCapacity constraintsExpertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation. Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, or ELK. Desired Experience Experience with production troubleshooting of ECS workloads and container lifecycle management. Knowledge of OOM (Out of Memory) analysis, application tuning, and JVM/Container resource optimization. Experience with Blue/Green and Canary deployment strategies. Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. Experience implementing autoscaling strategies using CPU, memory, and application-level metrics. Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
