Position: Cloud & AI Engineer (Level 3 Senior Consultant) Duration: 12+ month assignment (contract) Client Location: Montreal, Quebec (Hybrid work model requiring onsite presence 3 days per week. Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B About the Engagement Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced Cloud & AI Engineer consultant to support a large-scale cloud enablement and artificial intelligence transformation program within a global enterprise environment. The successful consultant will contribute to the design, implementation, and operation of secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS while enabling modern AI, automation, and agentic workflow capabilities. This engagement requires a hands-on engineering professional with strong cloud infrastructure expertise, Infrastructure as Code experience, Kubernetes platform knowledge, and practical exposure to Generative AI technologies, AI agents, and enterprise-scale cloud operations. Services to be Provided Cloud Platform & Multi-Cloud Engineering Design, build, and maintain Azure and AWS landing zones aligned with enterprise security, governance, and compliance requirements.Engineer secure and scalable multi-cloud environments supporting cloud-native and hybrid workloads.Implement networking, identity, observability, security, and shared platform services.Support hybrid connectivity solutions including VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, DNS, routing, and firewall integrations.Assist with cloud migration, modernization, and workload onboarding initiatives.Develop resilient and highly available multi-region cloud architectures.Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and platform integration issues.DevOps, Automation & Kubernetes Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure blueprints.Implement CI/CD automation using GitHub and GitHub Actions.Deploy and support Kubernetes environments including AKS and EKS.Build Python automation and integration tooling to improve operational efficiency.Apply software engineering best practices including version control, testing, code reviews, and secure development principles.Cloud Services & Platform Operations Deploy, secure, and operate Azure services including Azure API Management, App Services, Function Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Databricks, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Entra ID, and related platform services.Deploy, secure, and operate AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, DynamoDB, IAM, Transit Gateway, and CloudWatch.Integrate cloud environments with enterprise security, monitoring, and observability platforms.AI Engineering & Agent Development Design and implement enterprise AI agents and autonomous workflows.Develop solutions leveraging LLMs, embeddings, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and prompt engineering techniques.Build AI orchestration workflows using modern agent frameworks.Develop evaluation frameworks to measure agent quality, reliability, safety, and business effectiveness.Support AI governance, monitoring, observability, and responsible AI practices.Expertise Required 5 to 7 years of overall IT industry experience with a strong engineering background in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or related disciplines.3 to 5 years of hands-on Azure and AWS experience.Strong knowledge of landing zone architecture, cloud governance, and security controls.Experience developing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.Proficiency with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD automation pipelines.Practical experience with Kubernetes, AKS, EKS, and containerized workloads.Strong Python programming and automation skills.Experience supporting hybrid enterprise networking, routing, DNS, VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and cloud connectivity solutions.Strong understanding of cloud identity, security, observability, and access management practices.Knowledge of Generative AI, LLM fundamentals, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG architectures.Experience working with AI agent frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, OpenAI ADK, Claude Code SDK, or equivalent technologies.Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, security, infrastructure, and product teams.Nice to Have Experience designing highly available, disaster recovery, and multi-region architectures.Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or similar AI platforms.Experience building AI copilots, enterprise assistants, knowledge management solutions, or intelligent automation workflows.Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP), vector databases, semantic search, and AI gateways.Azure and/or AWS certifications.Experience within financial services, highly regulated industries, or large enterprise environments.Interview Process In-person interview required.Additional technical assessments may be conducted as part of the evaluation process.Important This is a business-to-business engagement.
