Python Tech Lead

At Grid Dynamics we are looking for a Tech Lead with strong Python backend skills to join a team building an AI-driven inventory replenishment platform. This role requires hands-on expertise in Saga Orchestration, LangChain and PostgreSQL. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, this role is for you. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership for the backend services and REST APIs powering the platform — including the data ingestion pipeline, the remediation scoring engine and the recommendation feedback loopLead the design and implementation of the stateless Recommendation Agent service, including scheduled batch triggers, SQL ingestion and structured output write back to PostgreSQLArchitect asynchronous, distributed workflows using GCP-native services (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks) Own the application of saga orchestration, idempotency and retry/backoff patterns to guarantee reliable message processing and fault-tolerant execution across the agent's skill registryGuide integration of external APIs and MCP endpoints with appropriate security patterns, scoped service accounts and row-level data filteringSet direction for CI/CD pipeline configuration, containerization and deployment coordination with the infrastructure teamEstablish testing standards across schemas and agent tool outputs; define and enforce data contract schemas for downstream interface handshakesPartner with AI/ML engineers on clean, schema-compliant data pipelines, and translate business rules into backend validation logic Requirements Strong hands-on experience with Saga orchestration and distributed systems patterns — idempotency, compensating transactions, retry/backoff with jitterPractical experience building LLM-powered agents and tool-calling workflows with LangChainSolid command of PostgreSQL — query optimization, schema design, indexing strategy, and safe append-only write patterns4+ years of backend engineering experience building production-grade services in Python, with strong REST API design skills (versioning, error contracts, pagination, auth patterns)Hands-on experience deploying and operating services on GCP — Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud TasksPractical knowledge of async programming in Python (asyncio, background task patterns)Proficiency with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Cloud Build)Strong testing discipline — unit, integration and contract testingComfortable leading technical direction across a distributed, cross-functional team, working effectively across time zones in an agile environment We offer: Opportunity to work on bleeding-edge projectsWork with a highly motivated and dedicated teamCompetitive salaryFlexible scheduleBenefits package - medical insurance, sportsCorporate social eventsProfessional development opportunitiesWell-equipped office
