Site Reliability Engineer

Site Reliability Engineer – Oracle London | Permanent | £70,000–£80,000 + benefits We’re working in partnership with a leading technology and engineering organisation that delivers secure, innovative solutions into the UK Government and Defence sector. They’re looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer with strong Oracle experience to join a highly skilled engineering team, supporting and enhancing bespoke software solutions where reliability, security and performance are critical. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting stuck into complex technical challenges, working across modern infrastructure and development environments, and having genuine ownership of the reliability and performance of production systems. You’ll work across application support, infrastructure, automation and reliability, helping to ensure systems remain secure, highly available and performant. You’ll be involved in: Supporting and enhancing business-critical applicationsTroubleshooting complex production issues and leading incident responseCarrying out root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixesWorking extensively with Oracle, ideally including DBA responsibilities and PL/SQL developmentWorking with Kubernetes, OpenShift and DockerBuilding and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processesWorking with public cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, GCP and/or OCIAutomating infrastructure and configuration using tools such as AnsibleWorking extensively within Linux environments, including scripting, networking and system administrationUsing Git as part of a modern development and deployment workflowWorking with NoSQL and object-based technologies such as ElasticsearchExploring and adopting new technologies, including emerging AI tools and technologies We’re looking for someone with a strong background in SRE, DevOps, production engineering or infrastructure engineering, combined with solid Oracle experience. You don't need to tick every single box. If you have a strong core SRE/DevOps background and particularly good Oracle experience, we'd still be keen to hear from you. Security Clearance Due to the nature of the work, you must be a UK national and either already hold SC clearance or be willing and eligible to obtain it.
