Description
Responsibilities:
Application Design & Development
Create, enhance, and support internal web-based and desktop solutions that align with the operational needs of the firm’s legal practice teams.Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#) and associated frameworks.Experience with web application development, RESTful API design, and database management (SQL or similar).Architect and implement system connections across the organization’s technology stack, including document management platforms (such as iManage) and Microsoft 365 services.Build and support APIs, scripts, and automated processes to reduce manual effort across legal and administrative functions.Partner closely with attorneys, practice leaders, and business stakeholders to capture requirements, scope initiatives, and sequence development priorities.Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technology Enablement
Assess, pilot, and deploy AI-driven solutions and large language model integrations to improve legal research, drafting, review, and other attorney workflows.Design and manage prompt strategies, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures, and AI-enabled process automation in collaboration with firm leadership.Stay current on advancements in legal technology and artificial intelligence, providing strategic recommendations that balance innovation, value, and risk.Ensure all AI-related implementations adhere to client confidentiality standards, internal security policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.Application Support, Stability & Quality Control
Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation for internally developed systems, including technical designs, deployment instructions, and end-user materials.Conduct peer code reviews and execute testing across development stages (unit, integration, and user acceptance) prior to production releases.Proactively monitor application health, resolving defects, performance issues, and security concerns while responding to user feedback in a timely manner.
