About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Physical AI Engineering Team at CoreWeave.
This team is responsible for building and scaling the core platform that powers the world’s most advanced engineering simulation and AI workflows.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the architectural evolution of our platform as we scale to meet the increasing demands of the industry’s largest engineering companies.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position that combines technical expertise with strategic vision.
You will lead critical architectural initiatives across the entire software lifecycle—from design and development to deployment, operations, and reliability—while mentoring engineering talent and collaborating closely with senior leadership.
Your work will help shape a more distributed, agentic-ready architecture that enables rapid deployment of AI products and integrations, supporting the next generation of physical AI applications.
Qualifications
10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in a staff or senior engineering roleDeep expertise in distributed systems architecture and large-scale backend system developmentProficiency in Python development at an enterprise level with production experienceStrong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production environmentsHands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, or KubeflowCloud platform expertise, particularly with AWS; experience with Azure and GCP is a plusKnowledge of data processing frameworks such as Spark, Ray, Athena, or similarExperience designing and implementing secure APIs and service interfaces, including OAuth and other authentication/authorization protocolsProven track record of leading architectural transformations and scaling engineering teams in growing organizationsExceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Responsibilities
Drive the architectural evolution of the platform, transitioning from monolithic to distributed architecture to support scalability and agentic readinessDesign and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance distributed compute services and infrastructure componentsOwn and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies to ensure continuous delivery and operational excellenceImplement and promote best practices for reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response (SRE practices)Lead technical decision-making, balancing immediate business needs with long-term strategic goalsMentor and develop engineering team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvementEstablish engineering standards, architectural patterns, and best practices across teamsCollaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and other teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutionsGuide and participate in technical interviews, onboarding new engineers, and building a strong engineering community
