Meet the Quality Engineering team You’ll join the Quality Engineering function within our Accounting group, focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of CORTO’s accounting products for legal professionals. This team supports established accounting functionality used by the wider user base, alongside ongoing product improvements and new feature delivery. The environment is fast-moving and product-heavy, with established products continuing to evolve as new features and improvements are delivered. You’ll work across evolving platforms, helping improve test coverage, quality practices and release confidence as the product portfolio grows. What You’ll Do As a Quality Engineer, you will take a hands-on role in testing CORTO’s accounting products. This role has a strong focus on manual testing, particularly across new features, existing workflows, integrations, and release validation. You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, helping ensure that quality is considered early and releases are reliable. You will also have regular opportunities to contribute to UI and API automation, with pairing, training, and upskilling support from the wider Quality Engineering team. To Make This Happen, You Will Perform hands-on manual testing across CORTO’s accounting products, including functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testingCreate and maintain clear test scenarios, test data, and evidence for new features, existing workflows, and defect fixesValidate end-to-end user journeys across supported platforms, integrations, and data flowsWork closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, risks, and technical changesIdentify edge cases, quality risks, and gaps in requirements, and raise clear, actionable defectsTake ownership of assigned features throughout development, release, and post-release validationContribute to UI and API test automation within the team’s established frameworksDevelop your automation capability through pairing, training, and hands-on support from experienced team membersHelp identify repeatable manual scenarios that are suitable for automationAssist with investigating automated test and CI/CD failures as your experience growsUse AI-assisted tools to support testing, investigation, automation, and documentation where appropriate What You’ll Bring Commercial experience working in software testing or quality engineeringStrong hands-on experience with manual testing of web applications, APIs, and/or data-driven productsExperience creating and executing clear functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory test scenariosThe ability to analyse requirements and product behaviour to determine appropriate, risk-based testing coverageExperience testing APIs, backend systems, integrations, and data-heavy applicationsStrong defect investigation and reporting skills, including clear evidence and reproduction stepsSome exposure to UI and/or API test automation, or a strong interest in developing those skillsFamiliarity with version control, CI/CD, or a programming or scripting language is beneficialStrong written and verbal communication skillsA proactive approach to quality, investigation, and continuous improvementThe ability to work effectively in a fast-changing and sometimes loosely structured environmentA willingness to learn, receive feedback, and build technical capability with support from the team Even better if you have Experience contributing to UI or API automation within an established test frameworkExperience with tools or languages such as Playwright, Cypress, Postman, TypeScript, JavaScript, or PythonExperience testing AI-enabled systems, non-functional requirements, or cloud platforms such as AWS You Are The Type Of Person Who Takes ownership of their work and follows tasks through to completion Cares about product quality and the experience of the end user Communicates clearly and works collaboratively with technical and non-technical team members Enjoys investigating problems and understanding how systems behave Is comfortable asking questions and challenging assumptions constructively Can balance thorough testing with practical delivery priorities Adapts well when requirements, priorities, or products change Is a self-motivated learner who values feedback and continuous improvement Enjoys sharing knowledge and contributing to a supportive team environment CORTO is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential.
