What You’ll Do You'll independently design and operate scalable, secure, and reliable platform systems, building advanced automation, infrastructure, and deployment solutions that improve system efficiency and developer productivity. Implementing observability frameworks, reliability practices, and incident response improvements is also part of the scope. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into robust platform solutions, provide technical documentation and best-practice guidance, and mentor the engineers who rely on the platform day to day. After a mentored learning phase, we expect you to take over responsibility alongside the team in the following task fields: Development of our Python based procedures and tools for BTP ABAP Cloud EnvironmentDefinition of concepts, APIs, and implementation of procedures based on compliance development frameworks and product standardsManagement of software lifecycles supported by Jenkins or GitHub ActionsChaos TestingCollaboration with IaaS and Hyperscaler partners to leverage new concepts and technologies for our multi-cloud-based SaaS and PaaS offering What You Bring You have strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and platform engineering. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, service networking, observability, and SRE practices such as SLIs/SLOs and error budgets is essential. The ability to design scalable systems, balance reliability with delivery speed, and apply security and compliance principles is required. Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to lead technical discussions and mentor others round out the profile. You bring along A good degree in computer science, mathematics, natural science, engineering, or related fields7+ years of professional experience as developer, software engineer or project manager in the IT and software industryExcellent programming skills (Python and Bash) and substantial knowledge of cloud native developmentVery good understanding of Linux operating systemHands-on experience with Jenkins or GitHub ActionsSubstantial knowledge of IaaS and Hyperscaler concepts and offerings. Certification is a plusExperience and knowledge in Agile methodologies such as Design Thinking, Scrum, Test-Driven Development, and Pair ProgrammingFluency in Czech and English is a must. Meet Your Team The ABAP Cloud Infrastructure department within the ABAP Platform organization is responsible for developing fully automated configuration, maintenance and operations tools utilized to operate over 3,000+ BTP ABAP Cloud systems in the cloud. Our department team is accountable for the entire lifecycle of our customer systems, providing centralized maintenance tools that ensure uninterrupted operations. Our role necessitates a harmonious balance between resolving technical challenges and coordinating with multiple internal stakeholders.
