Key responsibilities include analyzing business and technical requirements, identifying repetitive or inefficient processes, and designing automation solutions that address operational challenges.
The engineer develops scripts, applications, workflows, services, and automation frameworks that streamline tasks and improve productivity.
The role involves developing and maintaining automation software using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, APIs, databases, and development tools.
Responsibilities may include system integration, data processing, workflow automation, scheduled jobs, event-driven processes, monitoring tools, and automated service operations.
The Automation Lead provides technical direction for automation initiatives, establishes development standards, reviews technical designs, coordinates implementation activities, and ensures that automation solutions align with broader technology and business objectives.

QualificationsStrong understanding of software engineering, automation development, workflow automation, system integration, and application architecture.Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Go, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.Strong knowledge of APIs, REST services, webhooks, authentication mechanisms, data formats, and system integration principles.Ability to design and develop automation scripts, applications, workflows, services, and reusable automation frameworks.Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices, version control, code review, testing, deployment, and documentation.Familiarity with automation and orchestration platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, Zapier, Jenkins, Airflow, or similar technologies is advantageous.Knowledge of databases, SQL, data processing, ETL concepts, and structured or unstructured data handling.Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or equivalent environments.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, containerization, and infrastructure automation is advantageous.Strong understanding of automated testing, unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and quality-control practices.Ability to troubleshoot automation failures, integration issues, application errors, performance problems, and system dependencies.Strong knowledge of logging, monitoring, alerting, error handling, retry mechanisms, and operational reliability.Understanding of cybersecurity principles, access controls, authentication, authorization, secrets management, and secure software development.Ability to evaluate existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and digital transformation.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design practical solutions for complex technical requirements.Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work with engineering, DevOps, QA, IT, operations, business, and management teams.Ability to lead technical discussions, review automation designs, establish development standards, and provide technical guidance to team members.Strong attention to detail when developing automation workflows, integrations, code, technical documentation, and deployment processes.Ability to learn new automation platforms, programming technologies, APIs, cloud services, and emerging tools quickly.Strong understanding of scalability, maintainability, reliability, and performance considerations when designing automation solutions.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.Relevant certifications in software development, cloud computing, automation platforms, DevOps, or project management may be advantageous.
