The role In this role, you support customers in creating and integrating system control software for high-tech equipment in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical technology industries within the Brainport region and beyond. A senior software engineer is sought to design, build, test, and maintain backend systems in a complex technical environment. The role focuses on Java-based microservices, system architecture, integrations, and high software quality. What you'll do Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based backend services. Build and improve microservice architectures and RESTful APIs. Work on complex systems with multiple integrations, external interfaces, and application states. Develop reliable concurrent software with a strong focus on quality and maintainability. Support containerized applications and deployment workflows. Contribute to CI/CD, cloud, and operational improvements. Collaborate with different stakeholders in a dynamic technical environment. What you bring Senior-level experience in Java backend development. Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, microservices, REST APIs, concurrency, state machines, and software architecture. Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms. Experience with Maven, Git, Linux, networking, and shell scripting. Familiarity with message brokers, web proxies, and CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience integrating AI into software development processes. Experience integrating Java with other languages or technical environments is a plus.
