Backend Systems Engineer

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling our infrastructure from early-stage to production-scale deployment. You will work in a close-knit team that spans engineering, UX, cognitive science, design, and operations, in our shared mission to invent, implement, and deliver the most significant user interface changes in a generation. Qualifications Design and implement scalable backend systems that grow from prototype to production scaleStrong experience in database design, optimization, and managementExpertise in building and maintaining high-performance, distributed systemsExperience with cloud infrastructure and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker)Proven track record of scaling systems from prototype to production (10+ to 100k+ users)Strong knowledge of system monitoring, logging, and observabilityExperience with load balancing, caching strategies, and performance optimizationProficiency in implementing security best practices and data protectionStrong debugging skills for complex system issuesExperience working in a professional team of software engineers, and the tools and best practices for code, collaboration, and deployment.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail; pixel level perfection is core to what we do.Excellent communication and teamwork skills working remotely.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.Desire to stay informed about emerging trends and technologies, continuously enhancing your skills and the team's capabilities.
