Description
We are looking for an AI-native software engineer with a focus on backend development to join our Suppliers team in Helsinki.
Depending on your experience, we'll bring you in as a Senior or a Lead Software Engineer.
Being honest, we haven't got this all figured out yet.
Agentic development at Sievo is still in an exploration phase: engineers and teams across the company are trying things, seeing what works, and management backs that exploration rather than dictating one way to do it.
Some parts of our SDLC are already fully agent-driven; a lot of it still isn't.
Where we want to get to is agentic development as the default: agents involved from spec through to production, with checks built in along the way.
We're early in that shift, and in this role you will help us realize this ambition.
This role combines software engineering, quality engineering, solution design and end-to-end delivery through agentic AI systems, specification-driven development, and modern cloud-native practices.
About the team
The Suppliers team is the architectural backbone of Sievo’s data layer.
We are on a mission to build the "Single Source of Truth" for global procurement intelligence, transforming fragmented, "messy" supplier data into a reliable foundation for the world’s largest enterprises.
Every month, we turn millions of raw vendors records into a clean, trustworthy view of who a company’s suppliers really are.
Supplier parenting, i.e.
matching vendor-level records to their parent companies, is the hardest and most visible part of that, but the domain is broader: data quality, matching at scale, enrichment, and the services other teams build on top.
In this role, your architectural decisions become the platform's defaults for teams building on top of Suppliers.
You get to shape how we process spend equal to 2% of global GDP – a challenge that won’t let you get bored!
Teams at Sievo own their services end to end i.e.
design, build, deploy and run in production.
That ownership sits on shared platform foundations: common infrastructure, tooling and standards that we build and improve together, so teams spend their judgement on their domain rather than reinventing plumbing.
We expect you to form strong opinions on where the platform should absorb complexity, and to advocate for them.
What you’ll do
Drive and own the technical architecture of Supplier’s domain to ensure scalability and reliabilityBuild with agents as your default throughout SDLC using modern AI coding tools (e.g.
Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, and emerging agentic tooling)Collaborate with wider engineering teams, product management, and service designContribute to redefining software development ways of working, challenging the assumptions around agentic developmentAt a Lead level, you will be responsible for the technical evolution of the supplier domain, influencing the work & decisions within the team and when required, cross team
Our current tech stack
C# and .NETReact, TypescriptAzure storage services, Azure App Service, Azure Function, Service Bus, SQL and CosmosDBMicroservices, Micro frontends, Infrastructure as Code, Azure DevOps
What we are looking for
You’ve been actively driving AI engineering transition over the past 2-3 years in your team or organization.
You know how to give an agent the missing context it can't get from the code itself, how to turn a vague ask into clear instructions it can follow, how to check its work when it's producing too much code to review line-by-line, and how to restructure the code and tools when they start slowing the agent downSolid experience in building cloud-native applications, APIs, and integrationsStrong hands-on programming skills (ideally with .NET & C# but not mandatory)Strong skills in database (SQL & NoSQL)You have strong, hard-won opinions on how agentic development should work, backed by a real track record; and you're ready to set the direction for others, not follow itProduct mindset and curiosity: you dig into customer use cases to understand the real problem being solved and why it matters, then translate that into something agents can executeGreat communication skills and ability to collaborate with different stakeholders
What awaits you at Sievo
We believe in autonomy that lets you choose the process & tech stack that best fits the product & the team.
We support flat decision making and give employees trust to shape the work their wayCareer growth opportunities towards Lead -> Staff role or an Engineering Manager trackOne of the coolest offices in the heart of Helsinki — or if you prefer, a flexible hybrid working model.

We offer relocation support and a comprehensive package for exceptional candidates.
Our salary range for a Software Engineer is based on the job level:
Senior Software Engineer 5300 – 6500 eur/monthLead Software Engineer 6200 – 7400 eur/monthWe are open to discussing higher compensation for particularly senior profiles.
What’s next?
We can't wait to see your application! Send us your CV.
Instead of a traditional cover letter, tell us about one agentic workflow you've put into production: what it does, how you verify its output, and what you'd do differently now.
A few paragraphs are plenty.
This is the part we read first.
GitHub links, contributions to open-source projects, and links to passions projects are all welcome.
