Description

Profusion Group are supporting a banking organization who are looking to expand their platform engineering team. This will be a permanent position, with hybrid way of working (minimum 2 days per week in office). We are looking for a highly capable Platform Engineer to help shape and maintain the core technology foundations that underpin our engineering ecosystem. This role is central to ensuring our platforms are scalable, secure, reliable, and easy for development teams to consume. You will be responsible for building and evolving cloud infrastructure, automating platform operations, and creating the tools, frameworks, and processes that enable engineering teams to deliver with confidence. From environment provisioning and deployment automation through to observability, reliability, and platform modernization, you'll play a key role in driving engineering excellence across the organization. This is an opportunity to work on complex technical challenges, influence platform strategy, and create solutions that have a broad impact across multiple teams and products. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain cloud-native platform services and infrastructure.Develop automation to provision, configure, and manage environments across the software delivery lifecycle.Enhance deployment processes through scalable and reliable CI/CD practices.Establish and continuously improve platform monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support capabilities.Drive platform reliability initiatives and contribute to incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.Build tooling and automation that simplify system migrations and modernization activities.Support the integration of platform services and shared components to enable resilient and loosely coupled architectures.Partner closely with engineering teams to improve developer experience, reduce operational overhead, and increase delivery velocity.Champion infrastructure-as-code, automation, and engineering best practices across the organization. What You'll Bring Cloud & Container Platform ExpertiseDemonstrated experience designing, managing, and optimising cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), coupled with strong Kubernetes administration skills, ideally within Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) environments. Automation-First MindsetA passion for eliminating manual processes through automation. You'll have experience creating reusable infrastructure solutions and self-service capabilities that improve consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency. CI/CD and Release EngineeringStrong understanding of modern software delivery practices, including the design and implementation of secure, automated deployment pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar technologies. Site Reliability & ObservabilityExperience implementing comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities that provide visibility across platforms and applications. You'll be comfortable participating in incident response activities and driving ongoing improvements to platform resilience. Platform Modernisation & MigrationExperience developing tools, scripts, or frameworks that support application, infrastructure, or data migration initiatives, helping organisations move towards modern cloud-native operating models with reduced risk.
