Senior Java Integration Developer – Kafka & Azure

Role OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Java Integration Developer with strong hands-on experience in Java, Kafka and Azure integration technologies to design, develop and support enterprise integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong integration experience rather than being purely focused on Java application development. You will work across API, event-driven and messaging-based integrations, troubleshoot complex integration issues, and contribute to the stability and performance of the integration landscape. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and implement enterprise integration solutions using Java, Kafka and Azure.Develop robust REST APIs, event-driven integrations and messaging solutions.Build and maintain Kafka producers, consumers, topics and event-processing components.Integrate enterprise applications and services across cloud and on-premise environments.Develop integration services using Java / Spring Boot.Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration, API, messaging and production issues.Improve integration performance, reliability, scalability and resilience.Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and error-handling mechanisms.Work with Azure integration services including Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Functions, Logic Apps and API Management.Participate in CI/CD and DevOps practices for integration applications.Work closely with Solution Architects, Integration SMEs, developers and business stakeholders.Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for production issues.Follow enterprise integration patterns, coding standards and security practices.Contribute to technical design, documentation, code reviews and knowledge sharing.Mandatory Skills7+ years of Java development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.Strong experience with Apache Kafka.Proven experience developing enterprise integration solutions.Strong experience with REST APIs and API integration.Experience with asynchronous messaging and event-driven architecture.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.Experience with Azure integration services such as:Azure Service BusAzure Event GridAzure FunctionsAzure Logic AppsAzure API ManagementStrong SQL and database integration experience.Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.Kafka ExperienceCandidates should have practical experience with: Kafka producers and consumersTopics and partitionsConsumer groupsOffset managementKafka ConnectSchema RegistryError handling and retry mechanismsEvent-driven architectureKafka performance and troubleshootingHigh availability and scalabilityAzure & CloudExperience designing and developing integrations within Azure.Understanding of cloud-native integration patterns.Experience with Azure monitoring and Application Insights.Exposure to AKS/Kubernetes is desirable.Understanding of cloud security, authentication and authorisation.Desirable SkillsKafka StreamsKubernetes / AKSAzure API ManagementOAuth2 / OpenID Connect / JWTDockerTerraformMicroservices architectureMaven / GradleJenkins / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOpsExperience with enterprise integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi or IBM App Connect.
