Platform Engineer Warwickshire – Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite per week Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 + Benefits The Opportunity An established organisation is strengthening its Platform Engineering capability and is looking for an experienced Azure-focused Platform Engineer. This is an opportunity for someone with strong hands-on Azure expertise to take ownership of the organisation's Azure estate,cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities, while contributing to the ongoing development of its cloud architecture and engineering standards. The existing Platform Engineering team has a strong on-premises background, so this role will provide an important Azure and Cloud specialist capability, helping to develop, manage and optimise the organisation's cloud environment. The role sits within the Commercial Digital Factory and focuses on the platforms, infrastructure, automation and engineering capabilities that enable reliable software delivery across the wider technology estate. The Technology Environment The organisation operates a broad enterprise technology landscape, with Azure forming a key part of its cloud platform environment. The wider ecosystem includes: Microsoft AzureAWSSalesforceMicrosoft FabricPower BIInfor ERPInfor Revenue ManagementInfor Product ManagementBynderEnterprise integrations between these platforms The successful candidate will have particular responsibility for the Azure cloud infrastructure and platform services, alongside deployment pipelines, automation and the supporting capabilities required to operate these applications reliably. Key Responsibilities As an Azure-focused Platform Engineer, you will: Take ownership of the ongoing management, development and optimisation of the organisation's Azure estate.Contribute to the design and evolution of Azure cloud architecture and platform capabilities.Build, maintain and improve cloud infrastructure and platform services.Develop and maintain reliable, scalable and secure Azure environments.Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes and automation tooling.Contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives, with a focus on repeatable and automated cloud deployments.Help ensure platform reliability, resilience, monitoring and operational stability.Implement and maintain appropriate cloud security, governance and compliance standards.Work with Engineering teams to improve developer experience and delivery efficiency.Support incident response, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across the platform environment.Identify opportunities to optimise Azure services, infrastructure and platform performance.Contribute to continuous improvement across the organisation's Platform Engineering capabilities.Maintain clear technical documentation, platform standards and operational procedures.Support the wider Platform Engineering team and contribute cloud expertise to the development of the overall platform strategy. Technical Profile This is a hands-on Platform Engineering / DevOps position, rather than a traditional infrastructure support role. We are looking for someone with strong practical experience across Azure cloud infrastructure and platform engineering, ideally with experience managing and developing enterprise-scale Azure environments. Key technical experience should include: Microsoft Azure/ Azure Cloud InfrastructureCloud platform engineering and architectureCI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or JenkinsInfrastructure as Code, ideally TerraformCloud automation and deploymentContainers and orchestration, with Docker and Kubernetes beneficialMonitoring and observabilityAutomation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash and/or PythonIdentity and Access ManagementCloud networking fundamentalsCloud security, governance and complianceEnterprise application hosting and integrationsExperience working within a broader enterprise technology environmentExperience with AWS would also be beneficial, particularly for candidates who have worked across multi-cloud environments.
