As a DevOps Cloud Engineer (Azure & Databricks), you will help operate and develop the platforms that support Vattenfall’s data, analytics and AI ambitions. Your expertise in Azure, automation and cloud governance will contribute directly to our purpose: enabling fossil-free living through digital innovation and smarter use of data. Your role Within our Digital Platform Operations team, you will work with colleagues across cloud engineering, architecture, operations and data platforms to ensure that our Azure and Databricks environments remain secure, reliable and future-ready. You will play a key role in advancing a modern enterprise data platform that enables data-driven decision-making across Vattenfall while continuously improving automation, governance and user experience. Your Key Responsibilities Designing, implementing and operating Azure-based cloud platform solutionsBuilding and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Git and automation toolsDeveloping and managing Infrastructure as Code solutions using ARM, Bicep and scripting technologiesAutomate provisioning, deployment and lifecycle management of cloud resourcesMaintaining and improving self-service platform capabilities based on .NET Core and AngularEnsuring platform reliability, availability and operational stabilitySupporting administration and continuous improvement of Azure Databricks and Snowflake environmentsImplementing security controls in alignment with enterprise policies and governance requirementsCollaborating with architects, developers and operations specialists to deliver secure and scalable cloud services Azure Databricks Platform Operations & Governance Operating and further developing Vattenfall’s Azure Databricks platform for analytics, data and AI workloadsManaging identity and access controls through Azure AD integration and RBAC principlesSupporting secure networking concepts including private endpoints and secure cluster connectivityImplementing and maintaining data governance capabilities using Unity Catalog and related Databricks servicesManaging platform resources using Infrastructure as Code approaches such as Terraform and ARM templatesEstablishing compute standards, governance controls and cost optimisation practicesEnabling integrations with Azure Data Lake, Power BI, Snowflake and other enterprise servicesSupporting onboarding and adoption of platform capabilities across teamsContributing to monitoring, logging and security improvements throughout the platform landscape Platform Improvement & FinOps Identifying opportunities to improve performance, cost efficiency and sustainability of cloud servicesEnhancing automation and self-service capabilities for platform usersSupporting the introduction of new cloud, AI and analytics capabilitiesHelping to create a seamless developer and data practitioner experience across the platform ecosystem Location Amsterdam, Berlin, Stockholm and Katowice Qualifications Who are you? You bring solid experience from cloud engineering environments and enjoy combining technology, security and automation to create reliable services for users. You are communicative, collaborative and enjoy working together with colleagues from different disciplines to solve complex challenges. We believe you have Several years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer or similar role in Azure environmentsHands-on experience with Azure Databricks, preferably within operations, governance or platform engineeringStrong understanding of Azure services including Networking, Storage, App Services, Virtual Machines and Entra ID (Azure AD)Experience with Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD practicesExperience working with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as ARM, Bicep, Terraform and PowerShellKnowledge of analytics and data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Spark or modern data lake architecturesUnderstanding of cloud governance, security and access management principlesExperience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python or similar technologiesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilitiesProfessional communication skills in English (local language skills are a plus but not mandatory) It is an advantage if you also have Experience with container technologies such as Docker and KubernetesFamiliarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimisationExperience supporting enterprise AI or machine learning platforms Additional Information Our offer A challenging and independent job in an informal, dynamic working environment.
