Junior Developer

About the Role We work where finance, insurance and technology meet, a field of large, high-stakes problems and real technical opportunity. The industry around us still runs on manual process and fragmented data, and closing that gap is most of what our engineering team does. We are a young and fast-growing business with our own engineering team, and technology sits at the centre of how we compete. The scope is broad, the pace is quick, and AI agents are already in live use here doing real work in real decisions. There is a great deal still to build. We are hiring a Junior Software Engineer to take real ownership from the start. The work is hands-on and the learning curve is steep. You’ll ship code that reaches users within your first few weeks and get exposure across front end, data and internal tooling. You’ll see the effect of your work directly. You’ll own problems that matter, watch them go live, and see the outcome, with support as you take on larger pieces. What You'll Do Build and maintain features across our front end using React and TypeScriptDevelop and support data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric, moving and transforming data from Dataverse, market data APIs and submissionsWrite Python and T-SQL to drive data processing, automation and analysis across Azure SQL and FabricBuild and maintain Power BI reports and DAX measures that turn data into decisions the business acts onBuild and support the services and APIs behind our products and internal tools, deployed on AzureContribute to our AI agent tooling, including MCP server developmentTake part in code review and pick up strong engineering practice as you go You’ll pick most of this up here. We are looking for someone strong in part of the stack, curious about the rest, and quick to close the gap. What You'll Bring Required A solid programming foundation: you can read, write and debug code with confidenceWorking knowledge of at least part of our stack (React/TypeScript, Python, SQL), and the ability to get up to speed quickly on the restInitiative: you investigate a problem properly before escalating it, and you follow throughClear communication and a collaborative approachAn appetite for learning and a high standard for your own work Nice to Have A track record of building your own projects.
