Senior Software Engineer

Location: Vancouver, Canada Duration: 24 months The team is developing new capabilities for *Client’s* Decision Management Platform, which serves as the core for multiple business solutions focused on combating fraud and validating cardholder identity. The Java-based platform processes billions of transactions per month in tens of milliseconds using a multi-tiered, message-oriented architecture designed for high performance and availability. Senior SDE – Required Skills Java / Spring BootREST / gRPCKafka Role Responsibilities Deliver software solutions through hands-on development.Design and implement complex, multi-tier software solutions.Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot applications and services.Build and support REST and gRPC-based services.Work closely with technical leads on architecture, design, and implementation.Assist with production support and resolve incidents and problem tickets.Develop technical solutions in accordance with **Clinet’s** standards, processes, and best practices.Participate in the full SDLC, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.Develop unit, integration, and performance testing strategies.Participate in Proofs of Concept and technology/framework evaluations.Conduct knowledge-sharing and technical training sessions.Mentor and guide other team members.Identify opportunities to improve standards, processes, and efficiency.Participate in code, design, security, and requirements reviews. Technical Requirements Must Have Strong Java/J2EE development experience.Spring Framework, including Spring Boot.Experience developing REST APIs/services.Experience with gRPC-based service development.Maven.JUnit and Mockito.Git.Oracle and SQL scripting.Experience working in Linux environments.Experience with JBoss and/or Apache Tomcat.Experience designing and developing complex, multi-tier applications.Good understanding of Agile development practices. Nice to Have Kafka / messaging technologies.MQ and JMS.IBM ODM / ILOG or JBoss Drools.In-memory grids such as Pivotal GemFire.Kubernetes, OpenShift, or CloudFoundry.Apache Camel / Spring Integration.Service-performance monitoring.
