Nice to meet you. Makebelieve Labs is seeking a scrappy, high-velocity AI Engineering Intern / Associate AI Engineer for Fall 2026 to help engineer our flagship AI SaaS platform. This product empowers advertising agencies, global brands, and C-suite leaders to instantly unlock strategic brand frameworks, audience insights, cultural intelligence, competitive analysis, and product positioning—at a fraction of the cost of hiring extra staff, allowing leaders to move at the speed of culture. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and deploy custom autonomous AI agents capable of multi-step research synthesis, audience discovery, and real-time cultural insight extraction.Architect and build responsive front-end interfaces that seamlessly connect to custom agents and multi-model AI backends (Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.).Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on product features designed to turn complex agentic outputs into intuitive, actionable user experiences.Collaborate directly with the Co-Founder & Chief Strategy and Technology Officer to translate raw strategy requirements into production-grade AI features.Maintain a fast, experiment-driven workflow to move from raw code to shipping features with a hacker’s speed. QualificationsEducation: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited Computer Science or AI Science program at a top university.AI & Agent Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency with frontier AI tools, custom agent orchestration, and APIs (Claude, Gemini, Perplexity).Front-End Mastery: Strong skills in modern web development frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, Vue, TypeScript) tailored toward building sleek UI/UX for complex backend data and agent workflows.Proven Track Record: A portfolio or case studies demonstrating AI-focused software, custom agents, or experiments developed in university or real-world environments.Mindset: Enthusiastic about how AI transforms marketing, creativity, and business strategy.
