Senior Full Stack Developer

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Full Stack Developer to join a team delivering and modernizing enterprise web applications using a contemporary Microsoft and JavaScript technology stack. This is a senior hands-on development position with an important technical design and solution architecture component. The successful candidate will work closely with another senior technical resource and serve as a strong second technical lead for the team. The role requires someone who can move fluidly between architecture and design discussions, technical task definition, hands-on backend and frontend development, and code review depending on the needs of each sprint. This opportunity is particularly well suited to an experienced full stack developer who remains highly comfortable in the codebase while also having the judgment and technical breadth to provide solution architecture support when required. The engagement is expected to begin as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and maintain modern enterprise web applications across backend and frontend technologies. • Build custom APIs, application services, integrations, and business logic using .NET 10 and ASP.NET Core. • Develop frontend application functionality using Next.js, React, and TypeScript. • Take ownership of development work from technical design and task definition through implementation, testing, review, and delivery. • Translate high-level solution designs, requirements, and user stories into detailed technical approaches and developer-ready tasks. • Work with project leadership and development team members to estimate, sequence, clarify, and deliver work through Azure DevOps. • Identify technical dependencies, risks, integration points, and implementation considerations early in the development lifecycle. • Provide additional solution architecture capacity when required, including reviewing proposed designs, validating technical approaches, and acting as a senior technical point of contact. • Ensure implementation decisions remain aligned with established architecture standards, service specifications, and documented technical patterns. • Contribute to architectural decision records and maintain clear documentation of important technical decisions. • Work within established Microsoft Azure environments and shared platform services rather than requiring infrastructure to be designed from the ground up. • Integrate applications with shared services supporting capabilities such as authentication, authorization, delegation, notifications, and other common platform functions. • Analyze existing applications and business logic and translate complex legacy functionality into modern, maintainable APIs and services. • Conduct peer code reviews across backend and frontend development and provide constructive feedback relating to design, security, maintainability, and development standards. • Promote consistent engineering patterns and development practices across the application stack. • Support and mentor other developers when technical guidance is required. • Participate actively in sprint planning, refinement, estimation, technical discussions, and other agile delivery activities. • Proactively communicate blockers, risks, dependencies, and potential impacts to delivery. • Maintain appropriate technical documentation and status information throughout the development lifecycle. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. • Significant professional experience as a Full Stack Developer, with strong hands-on capability across backend API development and modern frontend application development. • Demonstrated experience developing custom enterprise web applications. • Strong hands-on experience with .NET / .NET 10 and ASP.NET Core. • Strong experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript. • Experience operating at a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or comparable senior technical level, or demonstrated ability to assume solution architecture responsibilities when required. • Experience translating high-level solution designs and requirements into implementable technical tasks for development teams. • Experience working within established Microsoft Azure environments, including technologies such as Azure App Service, Azure Key Vault, Azure API Management, and Microsoft Entra ID. • Strong understanding of secure API design and modern authentication and authorization patterns. • Experience integrating applications with common enterprise or shared platform services. • Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 and/or Dataverse, including data models, service integrations, and CRM-backed application functionality. • Experience understanding and re-implementing complex business rules from legacy systems using modern APIs and application services. • Experience developing or supporting message-driven distributed systems, including asynchronous publishing and consumption, independently deployable services, and service-to-service integration. • Understanding of distributed-system concepts including idempotent message handling, eventual consistency, concurrency, retries, and failure scenarios. • Experience with Azure DevOps, including boards, work items, sprint management, and technical task tracking. • Experience with GitHub Enterprise, including repositories, pull requests, branch protection, and GitHub Actions. • Experience working within a frontend monorepo using Nx, Turborepo, or comparable workspace tooling. • Strong experience conducting and receiving peer code reviews within a collaborative development environment. • Ability to operate independently with limited day-to-day direction, identify the appropriate questions early, and drive technical work through to completion. • Strong ownership and accountability for assigned work, including proactive identification and communication of technical risks and delivery concerns. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers, project managers, business analysts, infrastructure specialists, and business stakeholders. Desirable Attributes • Hands-on experience using agentic AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot coding agents, or comparable tools to support specification-driven or agent-assisted software development. • Experience using AI-assisted development approaches beyond basic inline autocomplete or conversational coding assistance. • Experience working within shared-service or platform architectures where common functionality is delivered through centralized APIs or services. • Experience modernizing mature enterprise applications while maintaining continuity with existing systems, integrations, and business rules. • Experience in public sector, legal services, regulated industries, or other environments with significant privacy, security, or data residency requirements. • Familiarity with Canadian privacy and information-protection requirements, including frameworks such as PIPA. • Strong technical judgment and the ability to balance architectural consistency with practical delivery needs. • Comfortable mentoring less senior developers and providing technical leadership without moving away from hands-on development.
