PHP Engineer (mid-level)

We are seeking a mid-level PHP Engineer to join our development team and contribute to building reliable, scalable, and high-quality applications. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain PHP applications and backend services. You will work with MySQL, Redis, and RabbitMQ, contribute to architectural and technical decisions, and help maintain high standards of code quality and engineering practices. You will collaborate with developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to solve technical challenges, troubleshoot production issues, and deliver scalable and maintainable solutions that support the growth of our platform. TECH: PHP 8.x, Symfony 5/6+, Composer, RabbitMQ, Redis, MySQL, REST APIs, Doctrine ORM, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, GitHub/GitLab, Monitoring/Tracing/Logging tooling. 🧩 What You Will Do Design, develop, test, and maintain PHP applications.Build scalable and maintainable backend services.Work with MySQL, including database design and query optimization.Use Redis for caching, performance optimization, and data management.Develop asynchronous workflows using RabbitMQ.Contribute to architectural and technical design decisions.Write clean, well-structured, and thoroughly tested code.Participate in code reviews and help improve engineering standards.Troubleshoot production issues and identify long-term solutions.Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders. ✅ Requirements At least 3–4 years of professional PHP development experience.Strong knowledge of PHP and object-oriented programming.Solid experience with MySQL and relational database design.Hands-on experience with Redis and RabbitMQ.Good understanding of software architecture and common design patterns.Familiarity with REST APIs and service-based architectures.Experience using Git and modern development workflows.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.A genuine passion for software quality, maintainability, and continuous improvement.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team 🌟 Nice to Have Experience with a modern PHP framework such as Laravel or Symfony.Knowledge of automated testing and continuous integration.Experience with Docker, cloud platforms, or microservice architectures.Familiarity with application monitoring and performance optimization. 🎁 What We Offer Hybrid working model for outside the Attika region or full remote for people all over Greece (Must be living in Greece)Competitive compensation package and benefitsThe opportunity to work on meaningful and technically interesting projects.A collaborative environment where your ideas and technical input are valued.Opportunities for professional development and career growth. 📩 Ready to make an impact?
