Role Description We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our Technology Department and work with us on our Technology Roadmap, helping to deliver The Park data platform and key strategic products for Low Carbon.  Working across Low Carbon's digital technology stack, you will contribute to the design, development and operation of data platforms, software services, web applications and analytical products on Microsoft Azure and Fabric. These solutions are key enablers for Low Carbon's ambition to build renewable energy generation at scale and support both operational and strategic business objectives.  Key Responsibilities Support the development and maintenance of software services, APIs, integrations, web applications and digital products that support Low Carbon's operational and data platforms, and are used by business stakeholdersSupport dashboard and reporting tool development, enabling analysis and visualisation of operational and financial performanceSupport the development and maintenance of data pipelines, data models and Lakehouses using Microsoft Fabric.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment processes using Azure DevOpsParticipate in code reviews and software design discussions, learning and applying engineering best practices whilst developing proficiency with modern AI-assisted development toolsAssist in monitoring, troubleshooting and improving data pipelines and production systems, supporting platform reliability, data quality and performanceCollaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand needs and deliver solutionsMaintain technical documentation and adhere to technology governance, security and compliance standards, ensuring solutions are maintainable Essential Requirements Demonstrable capability in software engineering, data engineering, analytics, computer science, or a related discipline through formal education, apprenticeships, certifications, or practical experienceFamiliarity with software development lifecycle principles, including version control, testing and deployment practicesStrong Python programming skillsFluency in SQLExperience with Power BIExperience with Microsoft FabricExperience with Microsoft AzureExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication and collaboration skillsInterest in renewable energy technologies Helpful, but not Essential Requirements Experience developing web applications and/or APIsExperience working in AI-enabled development environmentsExperience with Azure DevOps and working with Git-based development workflowsExperience working with solar and battery operational data What You'll Gain  Hands-on experience building scalable, reliable software and data solutions for a technology-enabled renewable energy businessOpportunity to expand your technical skills in cloud architecture, web app development, data engineering, and analyticsWork within an Agile framework, supporting the full technology maturation funnel from ideation to deploymentCollaborate with a diverse team and contribute to impactful projects driving sustainabilityOpportunity to help shape and influence the future direction of Low Carbon's strategic data platform and digital products Our Compensation & Benefits 26 days holiday plus your birthday off (with option to buy a further 5 days) Discretionary Bonus Bupa Health Check & Private Healthcare for you and your family (medical history disregarded) Contributory Pension Cycle scheme Season Ticket Loan Pluxee for commercial discounts and perks 3 additional days for volunteering to support causes of your choice We're committed to building an inclusive team and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.
