Junior HTML CSS Developer

JHC Consulting is currently advising a Brussels-based international logistics group on a series of structural governance and strategy mandates. We are looking for a Junior HTML CSS Developer to join our practice on a permanent, full-time basis to handle the technical presentation of our advisory work. In this role, you will take the rigorous, text-heavy memoranda produced by our principals and transform them into clean, stable, and highly readable digital documents. This is a technical position where the primary focus is on the architecture of information and the clarity of the presentation. The Role You will spend much of your time working with raw text and converting it into semantic HTML. Because our firm avoids slide decks and visual presentations in favor of written arguments, the clarity of the document is everything. You will ensure that headings, lists, and tables are perfectly structured and that the CSS provides a distraction-free reading experience for board members and executives. This involves careful proofing of your own code and the rendered output to ensure nothing is lost in translation from draft to final version. You will also maintain a library of document templates used across the firm to ensure consistency in our output. This role is about the discipline of the document, ensuring that every piece of work we deliver to the Brussels-based logistics group meets our formal standards of excellence. What You Bring We require a foundational understanding of HTML and CSS. You should be comfortable writing code from scratch without relying on heavy frameworks or builders that add unnecessary bulk to a page. Accuracy is the most important trait in this role. You must have a sharp eye for detail, noticing a misplaced pixel or an inconsistent font weight before the document ever reaches a client. We are looking for the following attributes: A basic proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3. An understanding of web accessibility and semantic structure. A focus on typography and the layout of long-form text. The ability to follow precise style guides and technical specifications. The maturity to handle sensitive corporate information with discretion. Strong proofreading skills and an interest in the written word.
