In this role, you will contribute to the modernization and expansion of a large-scale logistics platform that supports the complete shipment lifecycle, from order intake and customer assignment through routing, delivery, invoicing, and reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a long-term transformation initiative focused on building new services, modernizing existing applications, and enhancing development, deployment, and monitoring practices. You will work closely with experienced software engineers across multiple locations and have the opportunity to influence technical design and architecture decisions. Responsibilities Position responsibilities include: Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and application components using .NET and C#. Participate in the modernization of existing applications by refactoring and re-architecting components into scalable service-based solutions. Work with Microsoft SQL Server to develop and optimize database structures and application performance. Collaborate with team members on system design, technical architecture, and solution development. Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software defects and performance issues. Utilize AI-assisted development tools as part of the software development lifecycle. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to development processes, deployment pipelines, and system monitoring. Work effectively within an Agile development environment and collaborate with geographically distributed teams. Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing activities across the team. Requirements Hands-on software development experience using .NET (C#). C# development experience with .NET Framework, modern .NET, or bothWorking knowledge of ASP.NET (MVC and/or Web Forms). Practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Experience using Git and modern software development workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work within large and complex codebases. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English (B2 level or higher). University education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies. Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of automated testing practices, including unit and integration testing. Experience working with distributed systems and service-oriented architectures. Previous experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or related business domains. LOCATION This position may be based in Slovakia or the Czech Republic.
