About The Role This is a senior hands-on Salesforce development opportunity combining advanced engineering expertise with strong Salesforce system administration capability. You will help design, build, configure and support enterprise Salesforce applications while ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, maintainable and aligned with governance requirements. The position sits within a digital delivery environment developing Salesforce-based applications supporting field services. You will work across custom development, OmniStudio, declarative automation, integrations, platform administration, deployment and ongoing optimisation. The role is particularly suited to a senior Salesforce professional who can move comfortably between Apex development and declarative solutions, while providing technical leadership and working closely with architects, analysts, testers, delivery partners and business stakeholders. Position: Senior Salesforce Developer with System Administration Skills Rate: $100-$120/hour + super Location: Dickson, Canberra ACT Working Arrangement: Remote, with rare office attendance required Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 months with likelihood of extension Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week Key Responsibilities Design, develop and enhance enterprise Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce and declarative functionality.Build sophisticated OmniStudio solutions using OmniScripts, FlexCards, data mapping capabilities and Integration Procedures.Develop scalable Salesforce Flows and determine when declarative automation or Apex provides the most appropriate technical solution.Configure and administer Salesforce environments, including users, permissions, security settings, metadata and platform configuration.Design and maintain secure REST and SOAP API integrations between Salesforce and external enterprise applications.Support Salesforce Public Sector Solutions and applications servicing field-based operational teams.Translate complex functional and business requirements into scalable technical designs in collaboration with solution architects, business analysts and product stakeholders.Maintain high standards of Apex test coverage, error handling, reusable components and technical documentation.Conduct peer code reviews and provide technical guidance to developers and delivery partners.Support CI/CD processes and controlled deployments using technologies such as Azure DevOps, Git and Salesforce development tooling.Troubleshoot production defects, integration failures and performance issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.Monitor governor limits, platform performance, data integrity and overall Salesforce environment health.Review Salesforce seasonal releases and assess potential impacts, opportunities and required remediation.Identify technical debt and refactoring opportunities across legacy Apex, configuration and automation.Apply Salesforce security, sharing, access control and data protection practices throughout solution design and administration.Support release planning, environment management, testing and deployment activities across the development lifecycle.Maintain technical specifications, deployment records and platform documentation to support ongoing maintainability and governance.Participate in Agile ceremonies, estimation, technical planning and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage competing development priorities and delivery deadlines within a fast-paced enterprise environment.Champion Salesforce engineering standards, platform governance and maintainable development practices across the delivery team. These responsibilities incorporate the core requirements of the supplied position description alongside common expectations in current Australian senior Salesforce roles, including stronger emphasis on reusable development, technical documentation, testing, Agile delivery, security, platform optimisation and release management. About You Minimum 5 years' application design and development experience, with strong exposure to Salesforce Flow and OmniStudio.Minimum 3 years' hands-on Salesforce development experience across Apex, SOQL, OmniScript, Visualforce, VS Code, Data Loader, reports and dashboards.At least 3 years' system administration experience, preferably within Salesforce environments.Demonstrated experience delivering Lightning Web Components and enterprise-grade Salesforce customisations.Strong practical experience with OmniStudio, including OmniScripts, FlexCards and Integration Procedures.Proven experience integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST, SOAP or related API technologies.Experience working with customers, vendors and delivery partners across requirements, development, testing and release activities.Strong knowledge of Salesforce security, sharing models, permissions, data integrity and platform administration.Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD environments such as Azure DevOps, Gearset or comparable deployment tooling.Ability to diagnose complex platform issues and translate findings into practical, maintainable technical solutions.Strong understanding of Salesforce development lifecycle practices, testing standards and release management.Experience with Salesforce Public Sector Solutions or government digital transformation programs will be highly regarded.Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong stakeholder engagement, teamwork and interpersonal skills within multidisciplinary delivery environments.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining development quality.Salesforce Developer certification is required.Salesforce Administrator certification is required.Additional certifications such as Platform Developer II or OmniStudio Developer are highly regarded and align with current Australian market expectations.Candidates must be willing and able to complete the required Police Check prior to commencement.Candidates must hold valid working rights in Australia.
