Senior SharePoint Developer / Technical Lead (M365)

Important – Please Read Before Applying This is a senior technical leadership role for an experienced SharePoint developer who enjoys remaining hands-on whilst leading technical delivery. We are not looking for a SharePoint Administrator, Microsoft 365 Engineer, or Modern Workplace Consultant. This role requires someone who has extensive experience designing, developing and delivering enterprise SharePoint solutions whilst providing technical leadership to other developers. Applicants whose experience is primarily focused on Microsoft 365 administration, Power Platform development without SharePoint engineering, or infrastructure support are unlikely to be suitable. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior SharePoint Developer / Technical Lead to become the technical authority within our SharePoint practice. This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership across multiple SharePoint Online migration and modernisation projects. You will be responsible for defining technical direction, designing scalable solutions, mentoring developers, reviewing technical implementations and ensuring the quality of our SharePoint solutions. This is not a people management role. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, improving engineering standards and leading by example through hands-on development. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Act as the senior technical authority for SharePoint development projects Lead technical solution design and architecture discussions Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developers Review solution designs and code to ensure quality and consistency Establish development standards and engineering best practices Support technical decision making throughout project delivery in conjunction with Senior Service ManagerAssist with technical estimations and solution planning SharePoint Solution Development Remain hands-on in the development of modern SharePoint solutions including: SharePoint Framework (SPFx) Custom Web Parts Extensions Application Customizers Microsoft Graph REST APIs TypeScript JavaScript JSON formatting PowerShell where appropriate Design solutions that are maintainable, scalable and aligned with Microsoft best practices. SharePoint Migration & Modernisation Provide technical leadership across SharePoint migration projects including: SharePoint 2013 → SharePoint Online SharePoint 2016 → SharePoint Online SharePoint 2019 → SharePoint Online SharePoint Subscription Edition Support the team in: Migration planning Information Architecture redesign Content restructuring Permissions strategy Modernisation of legacy solutions Technical issue resolution and documentationPost-migration optimisation Legacy Solution Transformation Lead the technical approach for replacing legacy SharePoint functionality including: Nintex Workflows Nintex Forms SharePoint Designer workflows Custom SharePoint solutions Redesign solutions using modern Microsoft technologies including: Power Automate Power Apps SPFx Microsoft Graph Architecture & Governance Provide technical oversight for: SharePoint Online architecture Solution scalability Security design Performance optimisation Development standards Source control Release management Azure DevOps delivery practices Promote best practice across all SharePoint development activities.
