Senior Python Developer – German Speaking Long-Term Contract Germany – Client-site based (Berlin / Munich / Frankfurt / Cologne / Düsseldorf / Hamburg / Stuttgart) Role Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Python Developer / Software Engineer with strong hands-on backend development experience to join a long-term client engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python development, REST APIs and SQL, with the ability to work independently in client-facing environments. This is a hands-on individual contributor role and is not suitable for candidates whose recent experience is primarily managerial. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust backend applications and services using Python.Design, develop and integrate REST APIs.Work extensively with SQL for data querying and application development.Develop solutions using Python-based frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI or similar.Collaborate with technical teams and client stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective software solutions.Troubleshoot, optimise and improve existing Python applications and services.Contribute to technical discussions, development standards and best practices. Essential Skills & Experience 4–10 years of professional software development experience.Strong, hands-on Python development experience.Strong experience developing and integrating REST APIs.Strong SQL skills.Hands-on experience with one or more Python-based development frameworks.Strong backend development experience.Fluent German communication skills.Strong problem-solving and software development capabilities.Comfortable working in a client-facing environment. Desirable Some hands-on JavaScript experience.Experience working in consulting or client-site environments.Experience with automated testing and modern software development practices. Important This is a hands-on development role; managerial profiles are not suitable.Candidates should have a clear track record of using Python as a core development language rather than primarily for scripting or automation.Candidates will be required to complete a technical coding assessment via HackerRank.The role involves working at client sites for approximately 60% - 80% of the engagement.The contract is expected to be long-term, with the final duration to be confirmed.Candidates are paid on a daily basis during both client assignments and periods on the bench, subject to the applicable contract terms.
