Senior Software Engineer – .NET/Azure | Tax & Compliance Technology Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands Work Model: Hybrid Employment Type: Full-time About the Opportunity A leading provider of tax, compliance, and professional information technology is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a product engineering team developing business-critical software used by thousands of professionals across the Netherlands. The role focuses on building reliable, scalable applications where accuracy, performance, and maintainability are essential. You’ll work alongside engineers, product teams, and domain experts to translate complex regulatory requirements into high-quality software solutions. What You’ll Do Design, develop, and maintain core modules for tax filing and compliance platforms.Take ownership of solutions from technical design through implementation and ongoing maintenance.Develop and enhance backend and frontend components, APIs, interfaces, and integrations.Build scalable and reliable applications capable of handling complex business logic and large data volumes.Translate changing regulatory requirements and customer needs into practical software solutions.Collaborate closely with product owners, engineers, and subject-matter experts.Apply modern engineering practices, including responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.Improve software quality through automated testing, refactoring, code reviews, and clean architecture.Contribute to technical decision-making and mentor other engineers.What You’ll Bring 4+ years of professional software development experience.Strong experience with C# and .NET, ideally alongside Azure and modern web technologies.Experience developing backend and frontend applications, APIs, and integrations.Knowledge of modern web frameworks such as Angular, React, or similar.Strong understanding of software testing, refactoring, code reviews, and clean architecture principles.Experience taking technical ownership of software components or projects.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly when working with complex logic and data.A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.Interest in using AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve engineering productivity and quality.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Fluency in English.
