Role Description This part-time remote role combines API development with implementation responsibilities to support Fra Engineering PC’s design and operational workflows. The API Developer / Implementation Specialist will design, develop, and maintain APIs that integrate internal tools, external platforms, and client systems. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing integration requirements, writing and testing clean, well-documented code, and configuring APIs for secure and reliable data exchange. The role involves collaborating with design and engineering team members to understand business processes, translating those needs into technical solutions, and troubleshooting integration or performance issues. The specialist will also create technical documentation, support end users during deployment, and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability, scalability, and maintainability. Qualifications Proficiency in API design and development, including RESTful services and JSON/XML data formats.Experience with at least one modern programming language commonly used for APIs (e.g., Python, JavaScript/Node.js, or similar).Knowledge of integration patterns, web services, and API management tools or gateways.Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and basic data modeling for integration purposes.Understanding of authentication and authorization standards (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, API keys) and secure coding practices.Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into implementation plans and technical specifications.Experience writing clear technical documentation and providing implementation support or training to stakeholders.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.Prior experience in an engineering, design, or professional services environment is beneficial.
