Shape the future of Pelican’s digital experience. Pelican is looking for a Senior Web Developer to help build and evolve the digital experiences behind our global ecommerce business. In this role, you’ll develop high-performing web applications, enhance our Shopify Plus ecosystem, integrate platforms and technologies, and partner with Ecommerce, Marketing, Product, and UX/UI to bring new digital experiences to life. We’re looking for a developer who loves solving complex problems, cares about clean and scalable code, and is excited about using AI-assisted development tools to work smarter and push modern development practices forward. Build, enhance, and optimize Pelican’s ecommerce websites and digital applications using modern web technologiesDevelop new features and functionality within Shopify Plus, supporting product launches, promotions, merchandising, and conversion initiativesCreate landing pages and digital experiences that bring marketing campaigns and new products to lifePartner with Ecommerce, Marketing, Product, and UX/UI teams to turn business ideas into intuitive, high-performing customer experiencesDevelop and maintain integrations with third-party platforms and services using REST/SOAP APIsOwn code quality and contribute to development standards focused on performance, security, scalability, and maintainabilityLeverage GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI-assisted development tools to improve development speed, code quality, and engineering workflowsOptimize site architecture, navigation, search, SEO/SEM, analytics tagging, and overall website performanceSupport Google Tag Manager and digital analytics implementations that improve visibility into customer behavior and site performanceTroubleshoot complex application issues, resolve defects, and continuously improve Pelican’s public-facing and internal web platformsExplore new technologies, development practices, and automation opportunities that strengthen our digital capabilitiesPerform additional duties as assigned What We’re Looking For 5+ years of progressive web development experience, ideally supporting ecommerce or consumer-facing digital platformsStrong experience with PHP, Laravel, MySQL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and React.js or Vue.jsHands-on experience developing within Shopify PlusExperience building and maintaining REST/SOAP API integrationsFamiliarity with AWS, GitHub, Google Tag Manager, Agile/Scrum, and modern development workflowsExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar technologiesStrong understanding of SDLC, source control, application security, coding standards, and performance optimizationAbility to troubleshoot complex technical challenges and develop practical, scalable solutionsStrong collaboration skills and experience partnering with UX/UI, Ecommerce, Marketing, and Product teamsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered What’s In It For You Join a company that truly values its employees! Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The annual U.S. pay range for this position is listed below. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
