Description

About Us Are you ready to shape the financial future of a rapidly growing fintech that's transforming lives across Southeast Asia and beyond? We're not your typical company — we're a rocketship! At FINN, established in 2022 by experienced serial founders, we're on a mission to transform financial well-being for underbanked employees. Our product provides early wage access, financial education, budgeting tools, part-time job opportunities, and micro-insurances. We've hit product-market fit and are scaling aggressively across multiple markets. The Role We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our small, growing Platform team and help scale our infrastructure across multiple markets. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll own critical cloud infrastructure serving hundreds of thousands of users across Southeast Asia and Africa. You'll be part of the Platform squad — responsible for platform-level infrastructure, shared services, observability, and security tooling. We're in the middle of a major infrastructure maturity push: closing IaC gaps, hardening CI/CD, improving observability, and preparing our platform for rapid expansion across multiple markets in Southeast Asia and Africa. This isn't a role where you maintain dashboards. You'll architect, build, and operate the infrastructure that powers a high-growth fintech with high-throughput production systems. What You'll Do Own and operate cloud infrastructure — compute, networking, identity, and security controls — using Infrastructure-as-CodeManage container orchestration workloads, including cluster upgrades, deployment management, and autoscalingBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines — automated testing, deployment automation, and quality gatesDrive observability — implement and improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing across all servicesHarden security posture — cloud security posture management, automated scanning in CI, access policies, network security, and contributing toward industry security certificationsManage multi-cloud infrastructure — we run workloads across multiple cloud providersOperate messaging infrastructure — event-driven architectures, including retry strategies and dead-letter queue managementStandardize market launches — build repeatable infrastructure provisioning so new markets can go live in days, not weeksSupport the engineering team — be the go-to person for infrastructure questions, unblock developers, and create self-service toolingParticipate in on-call rotation — respond to production incidents and drive root-cause analysis and prevention Must-Have Experience 5+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roleStrong cloud infrastructure expertise — compute, networking, identity management, queuing, monitoring, storage, and databases (we use AWS primarily)Container orchestration in production — cluster operations, package management, debugging, resource management (we use Kubernetes)Infrastructure-as-Code at scale — writing, reviewing, and managing IaC with proper state management and modularization (we use Terraform)CI/CD pipeline design — deployment automation, testing integration, and deployment strategies (blue-green, canary)Linux systems administration — comfortable debugging at the OS levelMonitoring and observability — setting up alerting, dashboards, log aggregation, and incident responseSecurity mindset — experience with access control best practices, network security, secrets managementStrong communication — able to explain infrastructure decisions to non-infra engineersReliable internet and hardware, able to work ≥40h/week with decent overlap with UTC+8 (Singapore time) Nice-to-Have Multi-cloud experience (GCP, Firebase, or similar alongside AWS)GitOps deployment experience (e.g. ArgoCD or similar)Event streaming operations and tuning (e.g. Kafka)Compliance frameworks — ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similarCost optimization — experience reducing cloud spend without sacrificing reliabilityPen testing coordination or security audit experienceExperience at a fintech or financial services companyExperience with multi-region or multi-market infrastructure What We Use Today Here's what we work with today — familiarity is a bonus, not a requirement: Cloud: AWS (primary) + GCP/FirebaseOrchestration: Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, ArgoCDIaC: TerraformCI/CD: GitHub ActionsMessaging: Kafka, SQSMonitoring: Grafana, Sentry, CloudWatchSecurity: Prowler, Trivy, SonarCloud, Cloudflare WAFBackend: Node.js/TypeScript, Python, PHPFrontend: Angular, Ionic/Capacitor Why Join Real ownership — you'll shape the infrastructure of a company scaling across continentsSmall team, big impact — a growing platform team, no layers of bureaucracyGrowth trajectory — rapidly expanding across Southeast Asia and AfricaModern stack — container orchestration, IaC, GitOps, event-driven architectureFully remote — work from anywhere with good overlap to Asia timezones #EMEA #APJCompetitive salary + meaningful equity (early-stage package)
