Benefits on offer for this contract position: Health Insurance, Life insurance, 401K and Voluntary Benefits Overview We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to join a team supporting a critical Home Lending application focused on mortgage servicing and early resolution processes. This application plays a key role in helping customers navigate mortgage-related solutions and is actively undergoing modernization, automation, and AI-driven enhancements. The successful candidate will join one of three Scrum teams contributing to the platform and will help drive automation, improve deployment processes, and support the development of a sophisticated AI-enabled solution designed to streamline complex business rules and workflows. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys balancing hands-on development, automation, research, and innovation. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain Java-based applications and services using Spring Boot.Create automation solutions to improve deployment processes and business rule management.Develop and optimize regression testing frameworks and automation capabilities.Research and evaluate modern technologies, tools, and best practices to improve platform efficiency.Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-driven capabilities into existing workflows.Collaborate with multiple Scrum teams to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.Contribute across the application stack while helping broaden the technical capabilities of the team.Support configuration, automation, and modernization efforts for an existing enterprise application. Required Qualifications Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.4+ years of software engineering experience.Recent hands-on Java development experience (within the last 2 years).Strong experience with:JavaSpring BootFull-stack application developmentExperience working in financial services, preferably within Mortgage, Home Lending, or Banking environments.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as:ClaudeDevinCursorExperience building automation solutions and deployment pipelines.Experience working with rules-based systems, workflow platforms, or configuration-driven applications.Familiarity with test automation and regression testing frameworks.Exposure to AI/ML-enabled applications or intelligent automation initiatives. What You'll Work On This role is approximately 70-80% focused on automation and process improvement, with the remainder dedicated to application development and enhancement. Key initiatives include: Automating deployment of business rules and configurations.Improving regression testing and quality assurance processes.Researching and implementing modern technical solutions.Developing a complex AI-enabled tool to automate and optimize business rule management.Supporting the continued evolution of an existing enterprise mortgage application.
