Description

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to develop modern cloud-native applications supporting mission-critical intelligence and geospatial platforms. You will design, develop, and maintain user interfaces, APIs, backend services, and cloud-native microservices that enable analysts and mission partners to securely discover, process, and exploit geospatial data. This is a hands-on software engineering role working across the full technology stack from responsive web applications to scalable backend services and cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities: ADesign and develop modern web applicationsDevelop RESTful APIs and backend services Build cloud-native microservicesDevelop responsive user interfacesIntegrate with geospatial services and enterprise APIsBuild automated testing pipelinesParticipate in Agile developmentSupport CI/CD deploymentsOptimize application performanceTroubleshoot production systemsCollaborate with architects, data scientists, and mission stakeholders to gather, document, and refine customer requirements, including data mapping and integration needsAssist in implementing integration solutions in collaboration with development team members Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure timely and effective requirements executionEnsure activities align with established processes, standards, and mission objectivesContribute to documentation of processes, procedures, integration patterns, and lessons learned Key Technologies: Familiarity with backend systems and integration concepts (APIs, data mapping, file-based transfers)Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS, ECR, EKS, API Gateway, Cloudwatch, KMS)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD or similar)Understanding of containerized and serverless environmentsFamiliarity with data transfer and file processing conceptsFamiliarity with dashboards, metrics, and operational visibility toolsUnderstanding of secure data handling and access control concepts (IAM, least privilege) Frontend JavaScript - React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3 DevOps Docker, Podman, KubernetesGitLab, HarborCloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, other IaaCLinux Backend Auroa, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle (w/spatial)KVS – Redis, Memcache, ElasticacheGDAL/OGR etc.Other storage tech (s3, NFS, CIFS, SAMBA, NAS, SAN, DAS, etc) Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance (eligible for CI Poly) 1-3(Junior), 3–7(Journeyman), 8-11 (Senior), >12 (Principal) years of experience in software development, system integration, or technical support rolesExperience working directly with customers or stakeholders in a technical or mission environmentStrong communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teamsExperience gathering and documenting requirementsAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environmentFamiliarity with Agile development practicesExperience using GitLab or similar tools for collaboration and tracking Desired Qualifications: Familiarity secure data movement environmentsExperience working with enterprise service processes such as Service+Development or scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, or similar)Experience with data mapping or integration workflows (using JSON or other object notation)Familiarity with operational dashboards and metrics reportingExperience supporting customer requirement implementation and/or system integration effortsExperience building cloud-native applicationsExperience with microservicesExperience with geospatial applicationsExperience with mapping frameworksExperience with GDAL or geospatial librariesExperience supporting Intelligence Community customers What’s in It for You?
