Role Description:
The DevOps Engineer role at PPLIED is a full-time, hybrid position based in Austin, TX, with flexibility for partial work from home.
In this role, the DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support PPLIED’s hiring platform.
Day-to-day responsibilities include managing infrastructure as code, automating deployments, monitoring systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring reliability and security of production environments.
The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with software developers to streamline development workflows, support release processes, and troubleshoot issues across staging and production.
The role also involves maintaining Linux-based systems, improving observability, and contributing to best practices in DevOps and site reliability.
Qualifications:
Strong skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to automate and manage cloud resources.Experience in Software Development and Continuous Integration, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).Solid background in System Administration with a focus on Linux environments, including configuration, security, and performance tuning.Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and version control (Git), plus familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and document infrastructure and processes effectively.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior DevOps or SRE experience in SaaS or startup environments is beneficial.
