Title: Senior System Engineer C++ Location: Montreal, Canada (4 days onsite) Compensation: Up to $250,000 CAD Total Compensation We're partnering with a leading high-frequency trading firm to hire a Senior Software Engineer for their Core Engineering team in Montreal. You'll work on the high-performance systems that power algorithmic trading strategies globally, building and optimising infrastructure where latency, performance and reliability are critical. This is an opportunity to work alongside exceptional engineers on sophisticated trading technology, with a strong focus on C++, Linux, systems programming and low-latency engineering. What you'll be doing Design and implement high-frequency trading platforms connecting to exchanges globally. Build systems for collecting market data and disseminating orders to exchanges. Optimise performance through network programming, systems programming and advanced low-latency techniques. Develop infrastructure providing access to historical market data and trading simulations. Build tools to analyse market data and identify patterns. Develop risk-management and performance-tracking systems. Contribute to the technical direction and growth of the Core Engineering team. What we're looking for Strong experience with C++ and object-oriented programming. Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Working knowledge of Linux and systems programming. Experience with another programming language such as Python, Java, Perl or Shell is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another technical discipline. Financial or trading experience is not required. Why apply?
