How you’ll play your partIn this role, you will support the development and delivery of commercially robust pricing proposals, business cases and product initiatives. The role combines pricing and analytical capability with developing commercial judgement to help the business evaluate opportunities, make informed decisions and deliver agreed outcomes.The role supports and, where appropriate, takes ownership of defined pricing deliverables and smaller projects, working from initial scoping through to implementation and review. Success depends on building effective relationships across the business, Mercedes-Benz entities and the distributor network, constructively challenging assumptions and translating complex analysis into clear recommendations. Main AccountabilitiesPricing-led business cases and commercial analysis:Lead the pricing workstream for business cases, product changes, and commercial initiatives.Develop and test relevant commercial assumptions, working with Finance, Risk, Sales and other subject-matter experts where specialist input is required.Build clear base-case, upside and downside scenarios, supported by sensitivity and break-even analysis.Consider the broader financial, customer, distributor, operational and regulatory implications of proposed pricing decisions, drawing on specialist input where appropriate.Convert analysis into concise recommendations, highlighting key value drivers, trade-offs, risks and decision points.Monitor agreed initiatives after implementation and compare actual performance with the original business-case assumptionsProject and deliverable management:Coordinate and, with appropriate support, manage smaller pricing, product or commercial projects and defined work packages within larger programmes.Help define and document scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones and responsibilities with relevant stakeholders.Use proportionate planning and tracking to maintain visibility of actions, decisions, risks and dependencies.Coordinate inputs across teams, identify barriers early and escalate material decisions or delivery risks appropriately.Take accountability for progressing work to an agreed standard and timescale, including implementation readiness and handover.Support testing, communications, training and post-implementation review where these are required for successful delivery.Stakeholder management and influence:Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations and CreditWork effectively with external stakeholders, including Mercedes-Benz entities, service providers and distributors or retailer representatives.Facilitate workshops and working groups, ensuring objectives, decisions, owners and next steps are clear.Gather and reconcile different stakeholder requirements, constructively challenge where necessary and build alignment around pragmatic solutions.Adapt communication to the audience, presenting technical or financial information clearly to operational colleagues, senior leaders and external partners.Act as a credible pricing contact and represent the function professionally in cross-functional forums.Pricing governance:Support the maintenance of pricing models, assumptions, controls and documentation, ensuring outputs are accurate, transparent and reproducible.Apply appropriate governance and approval requirements to pricing recommendations and business cases.Ensure customer outcomes, fair value, conduct risk and relevant regulatory requirements are considered throughout analysis and delivery.Use management information and market insight to identify performance trends, anomalies, risks and opportunities.Contribute to continuous improvement of pricing tools, processes, data quality and decision-making. About youEssential:Experience in pricing, commercial analysis, finance, product, business analysis or a similar analytical role.Experience contributing to business cases, commercial proposals or structured recommendations.Ability to analyse data, identify trends and draw practical conclusions.Experience coordinating deliverables or work involving multiple stakeholders.Good Excel and PowerPoint skills.Strong communication and organisational skills.Desirable:Experience within automotive, financial services or another regulated industry.Knowledge of retail finance products or pricing principles.Awareness of FCA Consumer Duty, product governance or fair value requirements.Experience using data visualisation or business intelligence tools.Relevant professional qualification or equivalent practical experience.Future skills and development:Embedding ML models into pricing workflows and automation.Data Science/AI‑based pricing optimisation tools and big data platforms.Leading digital transformation of pricing processes and data pipelines.Advanced scenario modelling on next‑generation analytics platforms.Continuous learning and thought leadership in pricing technology and financial services innovation.Measures of success:Accurate and timely analysis that supports effective decision-making.High-quality contributions to pricing recommendations and business cases.Delivery of assigned projects and workstreams against agreed objectives.Positive stakeholder feedback on collaboration and communication.Appropriate identification and escalation of risks and issues.Continuous improvement in pricing insight, processes and reporting.
