Senior Frontend Software Engineer

Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Frontend to help design, build, and maintain modern ecommerce storefronts on our VTEX headless commerce platform. This role will serve as the lead front-end engineer on a small development team, with significant responsibility for front-end architecture, technical direction, and UI/UX decisions. The engineer will lead development of high-performance, customer-facing ecommerce experiences using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL, while working closely with designers, software architects, backend/integration developers, and ecommerce stakeholders to turn business requirements and designs into production-ready storefront experiences. Previous experience with VTEX is not required. We are looking for a strong senior-level engineer who understands modern web application architecture and can quickly learn the VTEX FastStore framework and supporting platform. Experience developing for other ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, commercetools, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, or similar systems is a strong plus. This is an in-person position. Candidates must be able and willing to work on-site up to five days per week based on project and team needs. What You'll Do Lead front-end architecture and development of our ecommerce storefronts using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and VTEX FastStore.Build responsive, reusable components and translate designs and business requirements into polished customer experiences.Make independent technical and UI/UX decisions while collaborating with designers, developers, and business stakeholders.Integrate storefronts with GraphQL/REST APIs, CMS platforms, and third-party services.Establish front-end standards and ensure applications are performant, accessible, maintainable, and SEO-friendly.Required Technical Skills Senior-level experience building complex, production web applications.Strong proficiency with React, Next.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.Experience integrating GraphQL and REST APIs and working with modern client/server web architectures.Experience with Node.js, Git, CI/CD workflows, testing, and modern front-end development tooling.Strong understanding of responsive design, web performance, accessibility, and technical SEO.Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with headless/composable commerce or platforms such as VTEX, Shopify, commercetools, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or BigCommerce.Strong understanding of ecommerce concepts and customer experiences, including catalog, search, product pages, cart, account, and checkout.Experience with CMS platforms and third-party ecommerce integrations.Strong UI/UX judgment and experience working with Figma or similar design tools.Previous experience providing technical leadership or defining front-end architecture and development standards.**Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
