About the Role As a Senior Application Software Developer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining first class solutions for tier 1 financial institutions around the world. Forming part of a large team of experienced professionals you will be participating in different areas of the software development life-cycle and specialize in a range of different areas from design, development, maintenance and quality assurance of our products and services. Liaising with different parts of the business, you will be dealing with Business Analysts, Project Managers and other internal functions in order to fulfil client requirements. Responsibilities Participate in the entire application life cycle, focusing on coding and debuggingBuild and perform unit testsBuild reusable code and libraries for future useClearly document solutions for all stakeholdersOptimization of applications for maximum performance and scalabilityCollaborate with other team members to establish objectives and design functional requirementsAnalyse, Design and Document new requirementsPerform under pressure and have the ability to deal with and solve problems quickly and accurately with limited supervisionTaking lead on projects when needed Qualifications Be in possession of a degree in computing or a similar recognized qualificationMinimum of 4 years of work experience in software development Required Skills Have good knowledge of software development life-cycle processesFamiliarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure) and containerisation (e.g. Docker)Experience with working on multiple Java frameworks and have a good knowledge of the different frameworks available particularly in Spring and Spring BootHas experience working with PL/SQL and SQLHas experience working with RDBMS Databases, ideally, Oracle and PostgreSQL. (Knowledge of NoSQL databases will be considered an asset)Strong understanding of distributed systems such as KafkaMust be meticulous, methodical and accurate in the completion of tasksExperience in designing and developing scalable softwareAble to work in a teamHave strong organisational and time management skills, able to prioritize across different tasks and meet deadlines as per business exigenciesStrong communication and writing skills in English Think you've got what it takes?
